@@GrowthGuided Your journey to recovery? How you developed a connection with a higher power.. What were some things you had to do to get recovery; your works; putting into practice. Lost friends...found friends. Often we feel alone in our quest..it helps to know other's found a path to recovery and how. Love you brother. Thank you.

@@lordcromwell5512 Love you too Amigo. I lost like 70% of my social circle when I made the choice to focus on Recovery. It was very lonely. The best way to connect with a new social circle is get in and do service no matter what the level. Old timers will be more likely to want to take time to help and guide you when they see you day after day putting in work. I read countless books, countless hours of step work. Countless scripture passage readings. I still work on my "understanding of God" and will do so indefinitely I'd guess.

That’s it. Life is too hard emotionally to deal with without alcohol. I need ease and rest that comes from completing the steps and clearing out my heart for more of the spirit to flow in brightly.

@@GrowthGuided I ended up at a Mormon church. Think I have lost my mind. It was the only church open by me. I came away feeling strange. What a bad idea. 8 months sober-ish. I had a very slight slip. Got back fast and said to myself "what are you doing?" Suffering ptsd on top of going sober. Wish I could see a doctor about my ptsd. It has been 105 here for over a month straight and driving me crazy.

@@lordcromwell5512 Mormon's are very nice people. I went to a Mormon church once in Mesa Arizona where close family friends attended. The trick is to remember Jesus and the word doesn't need a denomination. Listen for the truth no matter where you are listening to a service. Oppinnions can get in the way or bucher scripture. I like the ESV version or NLT version of the bible thus far. First 164 pages is vital to study if you are struggling with addiction I feel at least.
