given that you got to 70% in 90 minutes, it would be conceivable to use the battery bank until it needs a recharge, swapping to the quest's internal battery for an hour and a half, and then being able to run off the battery bank again. Potentially charging the quest back up to ~90% while using the battery bank, and then being able to rinse and repeat. Effectively, it potentially could be all day vr capable.

Likely be at the mercy of the Q3's charge controller. I've found the charge controller SUPER finnicky when in use. Sometimes its like "Sure, we'll go from 20-70% from another battery", then other times it just sits there at 20-30% and only runs off the extra batt. Don't know if it has to do with heat/airflow or what. Same goes for cable, have a link cable that has an extra power input "injection", sometimes its like "sure, we can run and charge" other times it'll just stagnate at whatever % its at, or even drain slightly..

I think a handheld computer holster/pouch would be useful for securing the battery onto your person. Alternatively, if you wanted to secure it to your headset for some reason you could use a Tactical Helmet Battery Pouch.

Wow, this thing is chunky but also very powerful. Which reflects in price. It is only for power users with disposable income. If you are a regular user just get a power bank that has PD (power delivery), delivers at least 18W at 9V/2A and you're good. The sweet spot considering capacity, price and weight is IMO 10000 mAh. There are also 22,5W and 30W models out there. 18W will keep the battery level steady, but not charge (when the Quest 3 is in use) 22.5W will sloooowwwly charge. 30W can play and charge. I actually prefer to just have the battery stay at the same level and deliberately only use a 18W bank. (I'm concerned about heat when charging the battery during play which generates a lot of heat already.) You get 2-3h additional hours of playtime with Quest 3 out of it, it doesn't break the bank, it's small enough that you can put it in your pocket or strap it even to the back of your head as counterweight (they weigh usually around 200g) As soon as you start going into the 20000 mAh region playtime doubles to 5-6 hours, but so does the weight. These are around 350g-450g. While you can strap these to the back of your head strap (which I do occasionally for very long playsessions), the added inertia can be felt in that the headset wobbles a lot more. And while these are borderline pants pocket wearable, you really feel the pull down. So you might even have get a fanny pack to store it more conveniently. TL;DR: most people will be more than fine with an affordable 10000 mAh min. 18W (9A/2A) PD power bank.

Nice…i was using the anker GaNPrime hybrid powerbank wall plug…its 30 watts output per usb-c, it could charge my quest 3 from 3% to 50% while playing but when i installed quest optimizer app to unlock 120hz on all games, it could only maintain the quest 3 charge while playing….this is what i need. Thanks…is there a 10,000 mAh size so its not that heavy?

i have the The EcoFlow River 2 Max 512 Watt hour Power Station. it will keep the quest3 running for weeks. but in terms of portability i think it will be a workout, if you decide to give it a try the weight is about 6kg.

I have a 737 battery bank, and its similar. It will give you PLENTY of battery. But it is kinda big and will want to move around- unless you are wearing tight shorts. The idea of using a fanny pack is on point and probably what ill do now!

My power bank I bought on black friday recently finally arrived. It's the Anker 737 powercore 24k 140w 24,000mAH so not as powerful as your hyper but I am excited to try it and see how much time it gives me in VR now for my Quest 3. I got a runners pack or fanny pack lol that has a built in hole that my wire will run through to run up my back to my headset at the same time. If yours gave you that much time then surely I can get almost the same. Maybe next holiday season if I still need another one or a steeper discount hits the hyper then I can snag that one to also help with my steam deck.

Power is drawn, not "pushed"... The quest 3 will only take what it needs. it's perfectly fine.

I use a Nektek 20100mAH battery strapped to the back of my Quest 3 with a Kiwi battery holder strap and it's honestly a little overkill in both capacity and weight at 400 grams which is enough weight to pull the headset uncomfortably into my brow and eyes as well as exposing the awful pressure points of the stock facial interface. I'm thinking of finding a 10,000-15,000mAH pack to find a nice balance.

I'm miffed I can't seem to get this in The Netherlands. I need a battery like this from my week long stay in the US. Partially also so I can keep a MiFi router powered while on the move so I have a hotspot with unlimited data this seems perfect for that while still allowing me to keep my phone charged! I did find a 145 watt, 25000mAh batterybank from UGREEN I like but that is puny compared to 230watts and 27000mAh! Do I need that many watts? No... but bigger number = better... right?

not at all, your not tethered to a computer, that's all that matters. any kind of strap/belt/pouch etc. will hold it to your waist/back, no cords getting tangled, actually the best solution for long sessions. If you only need a smaller boost, the neck/head straps are a good choice.

Please do a video on using vr all day. I'd love to know how far away we are from possibly living with VR devices in daily life. This is the first time it seems possible. I wish they could move all the battery off of the head and into a wearable battery. I also wonder if it can make vision overall better for people who need glasses.

I have this exact same bank, and I initially had it connected to a bag (that was also connected to a haptic vest). What I do now is have the power bank (or honestly any power bank) placed inside a pocket, such as the rear pocket. In that way the bank won't interfere with anything, and won't add any extra weight to the headset (besides for the cable that connects it, but that honestly is a plus!)

Yeah, tried that with smaller packs, hated it. Added WAY too much extra inertia to the headset. it "balanced" the front heavy bit sure, but... no... worse experience in general.
