That's my backyard, and I said to myself "Stingray", very soon after you hooked that big flat bastard....I used to be very casual about handling a hooked ray, until one buried it's barb under my thumbnail. It was one of the worst pains I've ever experienced....I was nauseous and heaved a few times, just due to the pain. I WILL NEVER be half-assed when it comes to handling a Ray ever again! But that area you were in is some of the best water anywhere when it comes to those three species you mentioned, unfortunately there is a hefty population of stingrays also swimming there......

haha, nice Stingray :D. I had this happen a few trips ago. Was fishing an area bouncing a paddle tail through some pot holes and all of a sudden I was STUCK! Knowing there were no rocks around, I started popping my line, for it to all of a sudden start slowly moving and then take off....After 15-20 mins of fighting, got in about a 20-25 lb stingray.

When we go fish the marsh in Southern Louisiana that copper bladed spinnerbait is our go to Redfish killer. Sightfishing and blind casting hard to beat. So funny you put that shrimp on and as soon as you got away from the mangrove and threw it out into the open water flat I thought to myself. Trout and bang you caught one. Most of the deeper "bowls" in the open water out there will hold Trout. Not sure what it is about those bowls it's like even if it's a foot deeper they seem to lay in them. Dandy trout at the end brother. You need to try that flat down by JB causeway. It's money in the winter

Just found your channel. Good content. Try the Z-Man Spitting shad or frog with a 4/0 or 5/0. You can skip them up under the trees with a spinning rod and get the fishing hiding under the trees. Can't do that with many baits. You can see videos on YT.

Looks like i’m fishing the wrong areas. I’m mostly fishing around the power plant to stuart inlet. Got some pretty poor results recently.
@theloosemoose82002 жыл бұрын
@@vertice3579 central Florida fishing during winter is rough for everyone. You need to target reds/trout/sheepshead (even those fish hide in their respective comfort areas).. right now is spring transition and over the past week I've been having to find them scattered around as they seek new waters... Jack's/snook/ flounder ect moving in from big water inlet areas... Bait fish are slowly moving from shallow safe zones to open river and that's been the easiest way to spot bigger fish as of this week, spotting surface strikes and targeting points at Creek mouths... We've also been having weak tides the past week but that will change as of this week .. you're gonna see things really pick-up after the 15th
@FISHGEEK0072 жыл бұрын
@@vertice3579 if you are talking the creeks on Hutchinson you need to get out on the flats by the mouths of those creeks and there should be a decent Trout bite but other than that it's tough for another few weeks
@vertice35792 жыл бұрын
@@FISHGEEK007 Yes haven’t fish the flats but mostly the mangroves area and structures. Moved 2 years ago in Jensen so i’m learning a lot. Even sheepsheads have been hard to target for me , but i keep grinding.

I grew up there where you were fishing I won't say the name of the place. It's hard fishing during the day and especially on an incoming tide. The shoreline further to the east closer to the beach holds a lot of reds in the afternoon and so does that clump of sticks you're fishing next to great video good catching
