For one, Don Bluth wasn't involved in this movie. It was a different director. And two, you're right! I never knew that they had 666 on this movie! As a kid, no child would notice the symbolism because it'd be too dark for them. It's funny to know about it as an adult when you notice the dark signs in a kids' movie, especially demonic signs. They had the mark of the beast on this film.

Not really. At the time there was this massive angel craze. Everyone was making some kind of angel movie. Angels falling in love with a mortal was a super common trope of the mid to late 90s. It was soap opera sitcom kind of thing. Dark, not so much. It has stakes but it didn't show the hell we saw in the original film of all dogs go to heaven.

I never noticed all the evil references in this scene when I was younger, but I do now. I shall list them. The Action: "Red holding three cards with the number 6 on them." The Reference: "The Number of the Beast (666)." The Action: "Carface revealing a bonus card from behind." The Reference: "Cheating the Devil (literally)." The Action: "Charlie shaking hands with Red for a new collar." The Reference: "Deal with the Devil." When I first watched both the part 1 and part 2 of this franchise as a kid in Nigeria, i was damn scared of these movies. Always seemed odd to me cause other Don Bluth movies never scared me, not even Land before Time or Anastasia, Secret of NIMH, or Titan A.E.
