I would think that would make more sense for the eternal mangekyou, since you literally can't get it without another uchiha's eyeballs, which usually would imply that person passing. since the mangekyou can be awakened due to any strong emotion, it wouldn't necessarily have to be hate or anger (even though that's all we see cause it's Naruto and their whole world is kinda horrible and militaristic so of everything is mostly horrible)

Tobirama Senju states that the sharingan is caused by a special chakra released from the brain when love turns to hatred. That is to say when one anguishes over the loss of a great love and disappointment toward oneself. And why would different emotions have the exact same effect on the brain? Of course Tobirama's sciencey explanation allows for some differences from character to character since everyone processes emotions differently. Sarada wasn't the first to get a mangekyo sharingan without even seeing someone die, since that happened in two different Naruto Shippuden fillers. The Sage of Six Paths got his (and his rinnegan) by dealing a near-fatal blow to his brother, who was successfully healed. And an AU version of Sasuke from the Tale of Naruto the Hero arc (which takes place in a book within Tsunade's infinite tsukuyomi so it's not a canon answer) got his under the mere mistaken assumption to have killed Itachi. But in both cases a presumed death or near-death took place. If any emotion could trigger the mangekyo sharingan then both Fugaku and Tobirama have fundamentally misunderstood how it is obtained.

As till now, Boruto's Jogan has shown the ability to see dark chakra, see the oponents chakra network in HD colour vision, detect the weakest link in the chakra network, teleportation, detect ivisible portals between dimensions, predict Otsutsuki teleportation portal openings and connection to other worldly beasts (Nue). And last but not the least, the most powerful Dojutsu are Jiraiya's eyes.

It's sad how underused and underpowered Byakugan is. I even still remember someone said in season 1 that Sharingan was just a cheaper and weaker Byakugan (hence how The Hyuuga clan is hailed as the strongest clan in Konoha). It would be really cool if Byakugan has "evolutionary patterns" like Sharingan does. And Tenseigan while served as a powerful upgrade, the requirements are really specific and much harder to awaken than Rinnegan

I think you should consider that the Uchiha clan were outcasts and shunned by the rest of the village in a way. So it makes sense that people would have a better understanding of Byakugan and choose praise them more than the Uchiha clan, whether it was for social reasons or not. The problem with hyuuga clan is they started using byakuugan in taijutsu not ninjutsu. If they started experimenting about chakras and finding out the mysteries of it from the start, they could've mastered multiple bloodline limit (even the more advanced versions like tota, even possible 4,5)rather than a lousy taijutsu user. Byakuugan is stronger than sharingan with observing chakras, the problem is they focosed on disrupting other people chakras rather than getting stronger(observing themselves, then try to implement experiments is safer for them than others). They were originally from the otsutsuki clan having vast amounts of chakras, later became near disabled, not even able to use nature transformation.

The Byakugan of random Hyuga compared to Otsutsuki Byakugan are as far apart than sharingan and rinnegan. Otsutsuki can see people's fate with theirs, Kaguya basically read Hamura's mind with hers and I think Hamura's Byakugan is far superor to Neji's.

I love how even in this objective explanation of each dojutsu, once you reach the Mangekyou the most objective you can be is- "At this point the user can use broken techniques and is inherently stronger to the point they must cope with drawbacks, at least until they get the Eternal Mangekyou and this drawback ceases to exist." Or if you're Kakashi and Obito, until the plot forgets that neither of you have the Eternal Mangekyou and you can spam it on the level of Naruto using Shadow Clones. I have to make a quick correction here: the MS is awakened in a moment of extreme emotional pain and trauma, not necessarily the death of a loved one. It just natural that most of these traumatic moments happened due to the death of a beloved friend or family member. An example of this is Sasuke awakening his Mangekyo not from killing Itachi, but after learning everything the Leaf Village did to him and their clan and turning all the hate he had for his brother into sadness and regret. Another example would be Sarada not witnessing a death, but THINKING that Boruto (someone she loved) was going to be killed.

I think the ootsutsuki simply have random dojutsu sometimes, like Isshiki with his, he's also the only one we see that has it, which makes it as rare as boruto's, although of course later kawaki inherits it as well but u get what i mean. One thing yo got wrong is how a mangekyo is awakened. It isn't only awakened by witnessing someone you care for die but also by feeling great levels of grief. Example: If you kill someone you don't currently care for you will feel no grief and won't awaken mangekyo however if you later figure out something about that person that makes you care for them then you will feel grief and awaken the mangekyo.

You forgot how the Rinnegan is created, by combining Indra and Ashura (blood, DNA or Chakras). In both instances of a Rinnegan appearing it was through either combining of Indra and Ashura's skin/DNA (Madara) or chakras and possibly some DNA (Saskue). In that way the Eternal Mangekyo is not the final form, the Rinnegan actually is the perfected and final form of the Sharingan

@@tjm1100, Obito transplanted them shortly after Madara's death (This was Obito's backstory) they were normal till a trauma awakened them, Due to the Uzimaki's massive natural bloodline chakra storing ability, he was able to activate it. The Uzimaki's were known for having massive chakra abilities as well as living long lives due in part to it. This is why Mito (hashirama's wife) and Kushina (Minato's wife) were selected for the duty of Jinchuriki, the ability of the Uzimakis to control any type of chakrs and their abilities with sealing Jutzu made them the perfect candidates for Jinchuriki

If you're referring to their fight, no he didn't. Itachi's health had no bearing on their "genjutsu war." Sasuke matched Itachi's Mangekyo genjetsu with a regular Sharingan, and even Zetsu who is watching points this out. Orochimaru who trains Sasuke foreshadows this from all the way at the start of Shippuden when he tells Sasuke he's more powerful with his regular Sharingan and at his current age than Itachi ever was.
