ehhh it really doesn't seem like there is anything else to this. the love story dialogue is just really weird and seems written to just be a red herring, which makes it not that interesting to go through. the hiker is just a dick. it's more suspenseful than regular horror, but it doesn't really feel like there is a payoff to that.

The writing in these games is always what lets it down. Like when Rick was caught sneaking in the bathroom with a hammer and they don't think anything of it or when the protagonist says she was too tired to care about the hiker attempting to break into the basement. I know it's done to force the next prompt but it ruins it. Like at least try to make it seem less linear.

I have my theory that this fake rick (frick if I call) he might be the old tenant, judging from the old bus we saw in back then, he might be an ex driver that the school came to woodbury to play, then on the way to go back there's an accident, the whole students are deads ,then the driver is missing, so the thing he did is hiding in woodbury, maybe rick letting him for some time but the tenants are disturbed by this frick so yeah sydney is not the only victim there, maybe rock already chased him out but he stay in the basement which is connected to the house and rick didn't realised that till this time, that's why rick gave us full payment since he knew the culprit, maybe,,,,,,,,, XD
