dude got Miquillested so bad he changed his entire playstyle

I was having a hard time surviving Radahn's phase 2 at blessing 20 without summon. So I had to lvl up arcane to 50 (which increases holly negation), use Marika's hair (holly damage negation +3 talisman), perldrake +3, Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman, Opaline Hardtear, Holyproof Pickled Liver, 60 vigor and Morgot's great rune. I never used so many buffs before. Bro's holly attacks barely did any damage to me. But managed to beat without summon, so I'll take it. Hopefully one day I will learn to beat him without the OP damage negation buffs.

damn, now that is prep time. Congratulations, beating him regardless of how you did it is impressive

I think one thing this DLC has taught me is you NEED to be adaptable, high level play is encouraged because it lets you be variable. For example, my main character is level 200 and mostly a dragon cult build (Loving the Priestess heart form btw, actual peak fromsoft transformation), I went into NG+ because I wanted to 1v1 Radahn, and I realised that even though ADLS does a ton of damage its too hard for me to pull off. Since I had the stats, I switched to the Godslayer's greatsword and used that, managed to beat him 1v1 Phase 2 I've chilled out on, I dont think the difficulty is artificial so much as it is overtuned, its alot more bearable especially when you have stuff like the golden braid. Fromsoft hasn't really done something like this where it forces players to experiment before (the only time i've ever changed a build for a boss is back in DS3 when my pyro had to fight the twin princes) so I get why people are frustrated by it, personally I think it's for the better but this is very much a prototype of what it should be. Also I have to agree phase 1 is excellent, actually reminded me of fighting Gael.

I had 18, so that's probably why I was able to beat her without much hassle.

People saying Romina is harder than any of the other bosses is so wild to me. 90% of her moves miss if you just hug her side.
@MattTGM6 ай бұрын
it was her jumping attacks that mainly got me in trouble. plus, everything before her really isn't much of a struggle compared to even the base game

I love how different players have experiences so different, in my playthrough, Rellana was MUCH harder than messmer or gaius, i had to get blessing level 8 just to kill her, on the other hand, i killed bayle first try with blessing level 10 and i thought i had leveled the blessing too much before fighting him. In my playthrgough the mother finger was harder than romina and midra, and the putrescent knight was the bane of my existence despire using a holy weapon against him, i am yet to beat radahn but today or tomorrow the day shall come
@MattTGM6 ай бұрын

Truly, i experienced the beauty of the souls series when i got back to Radahn in ng+ after 150+ attempts and proceeding to first try him with my big Sword and nothing else. A clear indicator of a masterfull boss.

My ranking difficulty wise would be after my first playthrough (no summon and no shields): 10 Scadutree Avatar 09 Putrescent Knight 08 Romina 07 Midra 06 Divine Beast Dancing Lion 05 Commander Gaius (Would be lower if not for the bullshit hitboxes his charge and rear attack have) 04 Bayle 02 ex aequo Rellana and Messmer (can't decide which one made me struggle the most even though I died more to Rellana) 01 Radahn & Miquella (possibly the hardest Fromsoft boss ever made if you don't cheese. The double cross slash is just too fast please fix) Didn't fight Metyr as I almost didn't use any guide.

I honestly think the biggest problem with Radahn phase 2 is visual clarity. When I stopped ramming my head against it and watched some videos of other people doing it, I noticed some safe dodge directions on attacks that had kept killing me that I hadn't noticed because the screen was so full of light clutter. I think if they cut down on the brightness and visual size of the beams, and maybe decreased their AoE by a tiny amount, it would go a long way towards making that fight still very challenging but way less frustrating to learn, and bump it up to one of the best soulsborne fights. Igon is the absolute goat, even if you don;t use summons I think everyone should use Igon for at least one Bayle kill. I think my next playthrough I'm going to use his bow for that fight.
@MattTGM6 ай бұрын
I basically agree with everything here. Igon makes the fight just better

The thing i found about fighting Gaius was horseback was terrible against him. So many of his moves are seemingly impossible to avoid without i-frames. It really makes me sad because it would be so cool having a mounted duel with him but his moveset isn't built for it.

I somehow struggled way more with main game than with the DLC (so far). I was blessing level 2 and RL 150 when fighting Dancing Lion ( no summons) and I somehow beat him first try, not even getting close to dying. Meanwhile Malenia took me 316 attempts.
@MattTGM6 ай бұрын
that's impressive. just goes to show how different our experiences can be with these games

@@MattTGM maybe it’s because I just recently did the main game so it’s still fresh. I don’t know. I struggled so much with the main game so was expecting a way bigger challenge after hearing about all these “too difficult” reviews😅

i had to use mimic tear for radahn too because i realised after 3 hours of fighting him, that im not making money from beating him without lol. After watching videos of other people beating him i noticed that you just have to hug him constantly. if you try to dodge backwards to heal you will just get caught in the beams. And also stick to the left side of him (his right side) to dodge the dual fast attack and alot of other ones.
@kahvipapu12316 ай бұрын
On another note, Tought you had atleast 100k+ subs. You will get there for sure with this video quality.

The second phases for Messmer and Radahn are both less fun for me than the first phases. Especially Messmer, but for both of them the visuals make it hard to even see what's happening.
@MattTGM6 ай бұрын
I agree fully. Though messmer phase 2 was fine to me. Radahn phase 2, is just stupid
@bombthing6 ай бұрын
I agree with that for Radahn but not Messmer. I found the snake attacks really easy to dodge, and very similar to god devouring serpent, who is potentially the most telegraphed boss in the base game. Not to mention you get a decent punish window after most of the snake attacks
@horrificbeauty16666 ай бұрын
Am I truly the only one who found Bayle stupid easy????? I mean seriously. His attacks become very easy to predict and if you just want to make it faster use the Dragon slayer great katana and he's down in 3 minutes.
@MattTGM6 ай бұрын
different skill levels I suppose. And I'm bad at timing dodges from his aerial attacks, that's just a skill issue for me

It's medium roll. On light roll the charge is much easier to dodge. On medium roll it is very unforgiving.

I refuse to believe scadutree avatar or metyr is the easiest bosses 😭😭 they so cheesy and annoying man clapped me over and over for longer then any boss other then rellana or maybe Putrescent knight seems that the side optional weird bosses fuck me up way more then main bosses
