Man. Calus is by far the funniest character to me. As well as one of my favorite characters. As a veteran of Destiny 2 and one who played the Opulence Season (and some part of the Leviathan raid), I know he is by far my favorite cabal character. Plus, he's funny.

I was very disappointed that he died. I hope somehow his Spirit energy made its way back to the leviathan. If not I hope that his daughter keidel takes over the Leviathan. Really want to see the Levi eat some pyramid-ships.

He is the final boss but at we defeat him, thats when Nezarec breaks free, stabs Calus with his scythe and thats when Nezarec's encounter starts. After we kill Nezarec, we approach the barely living Calus and he presents information. Ive always felt that Calus wasnt all the way evil, he cares about Caitl in a twisted way

I mean yeah he's "dead" in that his physical form was destroyed, but if Nezarec is anything to go off of, I think it's wholly possible for Calus to come back in some sort of spiritual form, possibly even restored through some fusion of light and dark. We've seen from Season of Opulence and the Haunted that Calus has plenty of psionic abilities, no doubt a gift from the witness. It's likely Calus still retains this power in some way, again, just like Nezarec. In-fact, given just how much presence Nezarec had in Lightfall as a whole, I'm willing to go so far as to say part of Nezarec's power may have been used in Calus's ascension. Perhaps Nezarec's psionic abilities may have rubbed off onto Calus in some form too, enhancing what he already has. Of course this is just speculation, so take it with a mountain-sized gulp of salt.

​@griffinthomas1056 most likely, as rhulk was still alive after we "killed him" in vow, and tried to possess a hidden guardian who had his remains, only for him to shoot his sparrow to make a small scale nuclear explosion, killing both of em. There's definitely some way to bring back disciples but it seems that coming back to life and not dying is something that nezarec does constantly, and might be a natural power for him
