@@Game_Hero Not really, economically that would be bad for Canada, also they would lose a lot of their power in the world. Quebec would also be less economically stable. @@TheTimurdempire I am 100% certain it was a reference of a punchline from American actor Giancalo Esposito, in which in a Far Cry 6 ad said "Are you prepared to die for your cause", and then he laughed and said "I was acting!" and then suddenly he turned serious and said "Or was I?". And somehow this video game ad turned into a new Internet meme, and that might be why Husavi Productions (the name of this channel) is using this meme as a reference to his video "All Endings:Canada", which I think is very nice of him.

Viking Ending (Cont.): Following the massive population spike felt by Iceland and Greenland spurned by a mass exodus of Astaru faithful from a rapidly christianizing Norway, Vinland saw great expansion and strengthening in the coming decades. With the 3 countries forming what their people called the Vaulknut, they fueled a manifest destiny that brought permanent norse settlements as far west as Alberta, as far south as New York, and as far north as the Arctic Circle. Denounced by the now christian Norway, Vinland would go unheard of until the "discovery" of America hundreds of years later, when Christopher Columbus stepped off into the Bahamas and was promptly turned into topsoil by an expedition of Vinlanders who'd been exploring thereabouts for a short while before his unfortunate arrival.

Even if the 1995 Québec referendum resulted in a very slim "yes" victory, it did not necessarily mean Québec would of become independent. The separatist Yes camp did not have any coherent plan for how to deal with a Yes victory. The leaders of the Yes camp were Jacques Parizeau, the Parti Québécois premier who led the referendum effort; Lucien Bouchard, the Bloc Québécois leader who was promoted, partway through the campaign, as “chief negotiator” for a seceding Quebec and de facto lead campaigner, demoting Parizeau; and Mario Dumont, the short-lived Action Démocratique party’s only member in the National Assembly. While Parizeau was dead set on using the slimmest of Yes margins to take Quebec out of Canada, the two other leaders of the Yes camp did not interpret the result in the same way. In fact, they spent the weeks before the referendum trying to figure out how to stop Parizeau. Dumont imagined that a Yes victory would have led to a quick Quebec election shortly after that would have allowed his new party to gain even more seats. Bouchard on the other hand thought that a Yes would have led, not to secession but to somekind of deal between Canada and Quebec, which would of granted it even more autonomy. I would like to mention that the popularity of Bouchard joining the Yes camp for the referendum was what led to its near success. So, if he disagreed with Parizeau over leaving Canada by very slim margins, then an independent Quebec after the referendum is no guarantee.

There’s more Mennonites in Manitoba and Saskatchewan than Ukrainians, it was neat for him to add that ending since most people don’t know about Ukrainian immigration to the prairies but having a low German speaking country would have made more sense to me.

I am Ukrainian-Canadian and I didn't expect it either lol, but I suppose there is some history there, although it's not well known outside of Canada Ukrainian-Canadians got their own: -Dialect, utilizing a mix of Slavic and English loans. -Beef with the government, because of a government enforced internment during WWI. -Traditional dance styles. -Surnames, as a consequence of immigration services anglicizing Slavic naming conventions. -Food, that evolved mostly from East-European food but with adapted to American/North-American tastes.

To settle the west the Canadian government gave Ukrainians farmland. The Ukrainians ended up assimilating into Canadian culture and losing their language rendering them just generic white Canadians. Although, being Slavs they are much better looking than the anglos.

*Portuguese Ending:* Having assured victory in the battle of Alcácer Quibir, in Morroco, avoided a potential dynastic crisis and proved the rigidity of the Treaty of Tordesillas (with the mare clausum policy), Portugal remained unmatched in the seas of the Atlantic Ocean and would go on to extend their overseas territories in the Americas, including in the North, where more inland expansions through Labrador and Terra Nova (Newfoundland) would occur, later leading to the formation of a predominantly Portuguese-controlled Canada in the east coast that would, however, further *spice* up the rivalry and disputes with the kingdom of Spain due to the inconsistencies regarding such enlargement of territories.

Not a historian, but I'm not sure the Portuguese would be that interested in Canada at the time as we were going through an economic crisis and securing a way to India by sea would be more profitable.

@@guilhermeferrao5968 Yeah, I know. In our timeline, we weren't that interested and only held those cities for maritime resources such as codfish and, if I'm not mistaken seafood. But let's just say that in this alternate one, we just happen to get a few more coastal cities and colonies in the east of the country, not all of it (kind of like with India, where we did minimal expansion into the more disputed heartland of the country and focused on strategically economic positions, with also a few bigger chunks of land here and there).
