I still can't believe that it never occurred to me that A) There was a locked door marked 'Employees Only and B) Stan handed Guybrush the set of keys for the amusement park......and that these two things were directly connected.

It took me ages as well! My instinct was to leave the park rather than trying to unlock the door!

My personal favorite ending.....Guybrush and Elaine with swords drawn standing on the bow of the Sea Monkey.

The one where guybrush throws the key away in the lava, shows there’s a special meaning to the word secret, like an anonymous foreshadow of either a kept secret or what could come Still these are nice details they add for the game, so certainly makes for fun replay ability to get them all

o dang, when Elaine took Jr. off screen and Guybrush is on the bench alone and pulling out the key from his jacket I thought; "aw, snap, he never left monkey island". That could have been a really cool twist 😀

Yes! Probably more cutscenes than endings I guess, but it’s nice they put them all in!

You can also try giving Elaine a whole bunch of your items. Even the horse armour finally has a pay-off... sorta.

I really like that there are multiple endings, so I don't have to choose which ending I like best. BTW, you can also let Guybrush drown, although that's definitely not my favorite ending.

There is one last ending. You need to save before trying it, but it involves drowning 3x

@@TurianShepard An easy way to do that, which will save some time, is after LeChuck throws Guybrush overboard, you can go back and forth underwater to drain the time faster instead of wasting the whole eight minutes waiting each time

I keep thinking, did guybrush really go on all these adventures or was it all in his head in a theme park?its weird we never saw any locations from,curse.if monkey Island a theme park,where was barber shop and his curse,crew?the ending, definitely setup a sequel, mire Island could be the sequel.

Officially yes, all of the games were his adventures in Stan’s theme parks! I think Ron Gilbert wanted to make reference to Curse, Escape and Tales, but not touch anything from them as they weren’t his games! Sort of like a respect for other peoples’ creations thing!

Is the Voodoo Lady an employee of Stan? Is she employed to be the guide and help when people play the current adventure there? Or does the ending with her mean she is as unreal as any other theme park character? Also, how can Guybrush drown? In the caverns?

I think anytime Guybrush is underwater you can let the countdown expire, and after it has expired a few times it will be game over for him.

I’m thinking she’s only in the park like the others, so just a cutout model, but that’s entirely a guess!

@@TaleTN Thanks. I thought the mentions of drowning had to do with the very end of the game only. I couldn't think of any place this could happen in Part 5.

Ya'll are all nuts... All of these "endings" are terrible. This just feels like they didn't have the budget to finish the game. The whole game felt, uninspired... The puzzles were bad, the art direction didn't feel "Monkey Islandish" at all. The story telling throughout, never draws you in, or sells the world of Monkey Island to the player. Elaine Sounds like she's 60 years old, all the characters sound dry, and tired. Wtf is actually going on? The comments make me feel like "I" just opened the door to a parallel universe. This is the worst/laziest ending(s) to any game that I've ever played, in my 40 years of living on this planet... Thx for ruining my love for a franchise that I had loved since I was 8 years old... This just makes me want to ban anyone above the age of 35 from being able to make games... You have kids? go raise your kids, no game making for you; you're approaching or are over 40? No game making for you, you dried up well of creativity. I'm livid... This is the culmination?! You HAVE to be fucking with me... From the bottom of my heart, fuck everyone who worked on this game.

Couldn’t disagree more. I thought it was a great way to explain any potential retcons that happened in 3,4 & 5, allowed Ron Gilbert to show what he intended Guybrush’s adventures to be all along (the hints are there throughout the first two games). It also lets the player choose an ending based on what they assumed the secret was for all those years. As for the part about people over 35 or 40 years old, that’s just a bizarre take dude!
