I have a Shure MV51 and like it a lot, but the design isn't very good for sticking on a mic stand or boom arm. And I have long been a little envious of the MV7's sound, which I prefer slightly to the SM7B, so this comparison was very helpful to me. The last thing I need is another microphone, but I like the sound of the 400X a lot, and since that big online seller starting in "A" was offering a US$20 discount coupon my decision was made. Thank you so much for this review! It’s been a toss up btwn these mics and now I think the Maono will be best for me. Right now I use the HyperX and need an upgrade. My voice is chipmunky and I really need more bass and a richer sound. My first mic was a Maono and I did like the sound even tho it was a cheaper one. Anyways best review so far.. new sub!!

Just ordered the moano pd400x to compare with the fifine k688 that I have now. Going to decided which one to keep and return. My use purpose is for gaming, podcasting and singing on the side so I’m going to see which mic I like more. Great video!👍🏼

Hi I had a question, how did you apply the filters to each mic, did you use a program or is it built in software that comes with the mic? Sorry if the question is dumb, I’m new to the mic scene.

You can select your EQ mode (filters) in the software that comes the mic's. Very easy. But you have to use the mic's via USB, otherwise you can not access the EQ modes. :)

Well I only tested the Maono PD 400x and it will work for both of the above. Can’t tell you anything about the other mics you mentioned :/

the mv7 is great but not for the price the maono is less than half the price of the mv7 in my country :D

its strange thing with maono pd400x... I dont know how to describe it but it has that strange problem with "s" which mv7 doesnt have. I think compression should solve it but dunno. Literally the biggest difference between mv7 and maonos mic. I wonder how to fix it. Cos if its fixable - maonos mic then is just awesome. Upd: it seems that its occur only with usb mode. Huh.
