I feel the same way, the second place in that race is still the second fastest time ever for a mile and the previews record is the 3rd fastest. Besides them 3 no one else even broke 3:45 yet. Kinda crazy!

sympaticoo1 Ngeny was the best of the best also though and EL G needed him as well in this video. Many people probably don't know this but look at the first video of EL G breaking the 1500m WR. See the Kenyan Pacemaker taking EL G through 1300m, that is no one else but Noah Ngeny(the guy who finished second in the mile WR) doing pace making duties for EL G before he burst on the scene. Hicham would have never run 3:26.00 in that 1500 without Noah an both of them wouldn't have run 3:43 without each other. They were both on the same level as Noah would go on to beat EL G in the Sydney Olympic 1500m. EL G is a lot more famous because he has the records and longer career and rightly so but Noah was every bit as good during their primes.

SNEAK982 he took him through 1200m not 1300 , go and look back at ngeny’s 1500m races without elguerrouj ans tell me what his times were ? El guerrouj ran more than 30 times under 3 30 , he ran 3 26 ,13 in 2001 and almost broke the world record again . Yes nageny was a good and fast runner he even still has the 1000m record but he was in no way in el guerrouj‘ s level who dominated the 1500 for 8 years like no one else
