My largest ranking since EVERY JUMPSCARE RANKED, in this video I ranked EVERY FNAF CHARACTER DESIGN from Worst to Best. I based this list of how much I personally like the design and how scary I also find the characters too. I also took some community points into account so my favourite characters wouldnt be pushed up too much. That is true...however the whole point of fnaf was meant to be that the characters aren't scary because they are mascots for a children's restaurant but they become scary in the different setting at night

The Mediocre Melodies crew originated in FNaF 3. The Happiest Day bit has a Frog, Pig, Bear, and Hippo set of masks being worn by children, as well as a few others, iirc.

I think it actually has a bunch of meaning lore wise since there is a theory where William (spring boi) is actually super shocked to see his son working there and you can see it in his eyes. Another thing that adds to this theory is that when you call him with the balloon boy sound it’s the suit reactivating and forcing William to the sound like it’s trying to find kids again to entertain, and William walking slowly up to Michael is due to him struggling against the machine he’s trapped in, could be why he moves so slow too

Bonnie is just the most iconic in my mind. Hanging around people who didn't know what fnaf was (in detail) could name and recognise bonnie but not springtrap and I felt considering everything Bonnie deserved the number 1 spot for that reason. Springtrap is definitely a better character overall due to the concept but for design Bonnie takes the cake as he is kinda the face of the series (i mean technically freddy is but you get what I mean)

I think I'd find the ruined animatronics scarier if they were bigger threats. For the most part the animatronics are only a threat if you have the VANNI mask equiped and there is an AR inhibitor nearby.

I think Nightmares Design is actually better than fredbears, because Fredbear is just way too easy to spot, while nightmare is much harder. Not that that matters, but nightmare is just a lot more scary. would have been a little better if solid colored, like black. Massively Underrated.

If this is the thought process, then I would’ve thought that the nightmares would be at the bottom for being “over-the-top.” Same with the funtimes or really any animatronic past the OG band. Also… rockstar chica would be at the bottom for me.

I think the reason the nightmares work is because while they are over the top there's a good reason and its over done in a good way. You only really see the nightmares when they kill you so your not staring at the model like you would on a camera. The funtimes are a bit much but I can let it slide for being hi tech. Plus they have simple concepts. Plus they benefit for having the endoskeleton under the face plates which is just horrifying

​@@jerakaigamezYeah, someone else, I forget who, pointed how the nightmare designs were used in a smart way. Because of the lack of cameras, you never get a clear look at them for very long. Because of this, it is important that the scariness is obvious. Most good monster designs are handled this way, because, if you get a clear, long,well lit look at them, the exaggerated scariness becomes silly. Having said that, you could make a similar case for the scraps. In the main part, you only see them in jump scares. Yes, you look at them for a while in the salvages, but those are very poorly lit. Having said that, yeah, not a big fan of Molten Freddy, and DEFINITELY not a fan of Scraptrap, but Scrapbaby really works for me. A lot of it is that crooked smile and that claw. The original Circus Baby has a rounded, clean design that just wasn't scary to me. Then again, I never found the opening face plate jump scares very effective, so yes, a lot of this is very subjective. Can't argue much with that top 10, though. I think you nailed the top of the list!

I agree with many of the points you make about many of the animatronics, but it felt kind of messy to me because for many of them you say "this guy looks funny and I love him" and then for another character you're going off of strictly how scary are they and how well they work in their environment. I think that overall, this is a good and enjoyable video, but it would be nice if the reasons for placements were all the same (like how scary or cool do they look) rather than being different for each one.

What I love about Springtrap is that he actually looks mad. You can in a way see he has angry eyes and that's what sells to you, "oh this is the main antagonist of it all" Because yeah, Afton is in there, he is the main villain. And that's such a cool storytelling method through character design, whether Scott Cawthon intended it or not

I like how with both Nightmare Foxy, and Nightmangle, they both have a tear over their right eye like a scar, which makes sense for both of them All other versions of Foxy have an eyepatch, in keeping with his pirate theme, while both regular and Nightmare Mangle are missing one of their eyes. Nightmare Mangle happens to be missing their right, which is where that "scar" is

As terrible as Scraptrap’s design is, I still kinda love it in a it’s so bad it’s good kinda way. Springtrap is still better, I’m not insane, but Scraptrap is just so hilarious and the way he looks during the salvage is actually pretty ominous, even if it’s not particularly scary.

i do think that the scraptrap design wasn't approached well at all, but there's a theory that he took parts from golden freddy after fnaf 3 and that makes it more terrifying to me. since the springlock suits have an animatronic time vs a suit time, when afton got springlocked in the suit it went back to animatronic time, and that's why he responds to the audio cues in fnaf 3. presumabley he got mad because of the suit's restrictions so he took parts of golden freddy but now is stuck with cassie's ghost, which is where ucn comes in with cassie making it afton's personal hell or whatever. with that all in mind, i think the idea of afton being stuck with one of his victims in the suit implying that there's two entities attacking you at one time is scary af. plus, looking at it from a lore standpoint and putting yourself in michael's shoes, the scrap animatronics are all 10x scarier because you know it's his family too. the constant insults and mockery really tie it in for me, so i think scraptrap looking stupid is compensated for the idea that he's 'your' murderer father and he's trying to kill you alongside your dead sister.

Nedd Bear's googly eyes give him a really derpy face and he looks super goofy to me. If I had to choose a favorite, I really like withered Bonnie and og Chica. I also think withered Bonnie has one of the best jumpscares when he reaches toward you instead of just having a seizure in your face like a lot of other ones do. I also am not a big fan of Ennard with his weird clown face or Circus Baby.

I actually really like the mediocre melodies tbh becuase its really nice yo see other animals as fnaf animatronics besides the base 4. Also kinda like their bright colors but obviously they aren't scary or the best designs, but they aren't meant to be either. While they fail in a horror aspect they aren't meant to be horror so I appreciate them.

5:56 bare endo/endo-01's design is not that one but that was actually an unused asset for the endo-01 and also that's a fanart/edit, the first one you see in the games is actually more unnerving when you play the game for the first time in 2014-2018, it doesn't look that scary but when you hear phone guy's call about getting stuffed in the suit like with that endo penetrating your skin.

I think spring traps jump scare is just right because in fnaf 3 you are playing as Micheal afton and springtrap notices that hence the eyes open so far and he can’t move the jaw because of the spring locks holding the jaw back making his jump scare realistic

IMO im gonna have to disagree with No.88, they arent MEANT to look demolished, disgusting yet so full of themselves, the roller skates, the tiara especially both contribute to the character's progression from their previous state. and the eyes are TERRIFIYNG when they glare at you during the salvage sections when those sockets were pitch black before. meh, idk, maybe ScrapTrap brought them down with'm or something.
