Very interesting video. With the exception of Jim Hines, who was the first to break the 10s barrier in the men's 100m in 1968, 1980 was the last year where 10s were enough to become Olympic champion. Likewise, for the women's 100m, 1980 was the last year where 11s were enough to win a gold medal.

You have to realise that atheletes today have higher competetion and they have better dieting and training. If it was just shoes and track then why don't all atheletes hit sub 10?
