Here in Norway, Geir Moen was our sprint hero in the 1990s (His coach is now currently Karsten Warholm's coach) He was the fastest European for some time, as well as the fastest white guy in the world. He was the world indoor champion in the 200m, European outdoor champion, and finished 6th in the outdoor world championships in 1995. His PBs were 10.08, and 20.17, both respectable times. The fact that a 16-year old is faster in both distances is mindboggling to me. How does one obtain these fast times in your mid teens?? How does a body, and not to mention legs, run these times when it's far from fully developed. This kid is another beast. It will be super exciting to follow him over the next years. Lyles, Knighton and Tebogo are gonna get their hands full. (Would love to hear a Bolt comment about Gout Gout)

Some nations develop and mature early as it is the case in many African/Pacific countries. These guys grow into their mature/adult bodies early or by the time other teens go through puberty. Sudanese people are the same. Let's see if this kid is going to perform sub 10s when he is 25 or 26 or will he run the same as he is doing now. I have seen this many times with talented juniors. Not only that he needs to continue training over the next few years the media hype does not help but could ruin everything as it builds unrealistic expectations that can affect a young person. Sudanese are not known for their hard working ethics no matter what one may say. It's just the way it is with many peoples who live in hot climate like them. They naturally move slower to preserve low body temperature etc. Let's see if this kid will have work ethics over the next 8 years and determination, discipline and committment as 8 years is the period required to build an Olympic level sprinter according to many leading coaches like Charlie Francis. Well done so far but only about a 100 people in the last 50 plus years have run sub 10. He has an amazing top end speed but there are many sections of the 100m race he needs an improvement and he will need to find a right coach. The current one may be too much of the "old school". I have my reservations but will continue to watch him and wish him good luck.
@originalceoАй бұрын
@@boost4774if he's losing to a 10.6/8 sprinter for 30m it's a done deal....just mildly improving that start to even a regular top 100 sprinter gets him sub 10s easily. Gout's mechanics have gone from amateur to elite professional/Olympic level in less than 12 months at just16yo - it's frightening. He must be a fast learner because even 12 months ago, the shocking thing was his pure ability but he just wasn't running with these almost perfect frontside mechanics. The pure top end and maintenance s honestly way more impressive than Bolt and anyone at the same age. As he gets stronger in his 20's and has the pure power to start as well - there's no saying what we could see from this kid. He has 10-12 years of physical prime ahead of him😱. Honestly, we might be looking at a human who could run a 9.40s 100m and sub-19 in the 200.

We NEED some professional analyses to get more accurate splits as I'm sure I wasn't THAT accurate myself. I also put Gout's 20.04 alongside the Paris Olympic Final and put them side-by-side at 100m and found Tebogo only ran 100-200m around *0.02* faster than Gout, and Gout closed a MASSIVE gap from Knighton, Ogando and Makarawu- barely finishing behind Knighton (19.99) and pretty much the same time as Ogando (20.02). Once he gets his starts sub 10.50, we're looking at a consistent 19.8 runner, or faster if he gets it down to something like 10.30! @@timmytheinventor4746 Good question. It's just seems superhuman. And it's not even the world record for 13-year olds. That record is 21.73 by James Gallaugher, who happens to be from Australia as well. (I remember him going viral at age 12 with an insane last leg of a relay. But he sort of peaked early (like many sprinters do))

@@CarlFredrik-uo1cuwith all this hype going on, I wouldn't be surprised if Gout peaks early too. In the next 3 years or so

@@FrankHassleXBurtObeng What are the errors in my list? I made it clear that I based it of what aged they turned that year. Yes, bolt ran 20.13 at age 16, the year he was TURNING 17. If something is wrong, please take it up with IAAF, that's where I got my numbers from.

Please look after this champ well Australia. The late Peter Norman after how badly he was treated would have been proud of Gout2. I hope the young boy knows about this great Australian athlete.

I'm sure he knows about Peter Norman, especially as it was his record he was chasing.

It seems in all his races, he starts slow, and it takes him almost half the 100m to catch up to the leader, then smokes everyone else in the final 50m. If he improves his acceleration in the first 50m, he's probably already running sub-10s. His top-end speed is incredible.

Scariest bit is that he’s too young to even be on the juice yet! Imagine when he’s fully developed and he gets on that! Gonna be unstoppable!

Didn’t think I would see someone as fast as Bolt so soon. And the guy is only 17.

Not quite 17 yet.

He isn't even just a 16 year old, he is extremely YOUNG for his age bracket, he was almost born the next year lol. And yes, at a young age, that actually matters a great deal, it is a disadvantage physically and academically! When I ran track, I came from a country where people started school 1 year after, so I was 1 year older in simple terms, but I was born in October, so the person organising the event told me I could race against my classmates. Someone born at the tail end of December is for all intents and purposes, essentially in a different cohort. This doesn't matter in abstract comparisons of DIFFERENT races and opponents, but it does mean that he is considerably younger than even most of the people he is racing.

Get the coaches working on his starts and he will be unstoppable. Scary that he has so much room for improvement and just glides already.
