If only getting the chaos emeralds wasn't tied to getting all the metals in a stage in one go just to get to the special stages, then Advance 2 would have been good. To me, it stands as the worst requirement for 100%, and you need to do it for the other characters just to unlock content.

That moment i realised you forgot the "SegaSonic" arcade game, where it also has a good ending when you escape the last level. And if you didn't manage to escape in time (waiting 20 secs) you get the bad ending where the place explodes. Edit: the game was exclusive for japan, and later after a long time, this game got forgotten and nobody plays it.

Like the bad ending scenario, they should've put SegaSonic the Hedgehog's good ending scenario. After escaping the exploding tower, Sonic, Mighty and Ray are safe. Sonic runs to Never Lake to see what is going on with Little Planet while Mighty and Ray take a short safe break at South Island. In the game's own post credits scene, Dr. Eggman sees his computer to go to Never Lake. He falls into the location in the open sea after his Egg Mobile's battery is now *dead*.
