Why does it take until March or April? Then just split it up and get things moving now! We need BUTTS in seats. No going home, no weekends, no pork, no discussions. Post the bill 7 days in advance and record each house and representative having read them. Then vote and post all votes online so we can see who's the problem!

Right. 435 members, all with hundreds of thousands of constituents. I was in local politics. Most politicians are so ego starved that they will fight hard against any idea that's not theirs. It took me three months to get $500 appropriated for our first Fourth of July celebration since 1976. Now, it's the pride of our town. What's ridiculous is that people who know nothing about the process feel entitled to opine publicly.

Your math does not work. The trust fund for ss has been paid back with interest. The trust fund is due to be gone about 2030 ( sooner with no tax on ss and the bill they just passed to prioritize extra payments to some) when the trust fund is empty under current law everyone is cut to about 78 percent of benefits. I think Congress should work harder and longer to get bills passed. Bills and executive orders should be ready on day one, and Congress should be prepared to stay there until the work is done. It is ridiculous how sissified they have become. The military and the first responders don't get to go home before the work is done. Show us that you are worth your salt.
