Hiyoko is a very interesting character... When I first saw her, I thought she was the cute and innocent type but when I noticed her foulmouthed behavior and her constant bullying of Mikan, I thought so soon... And I'll be honest here, the Chapter 2 Class Trial is the only time I felt sorry and sympathy for her.

I don't know if it's just my opinion, but Hiyoko might just be the most useless character in any during the trials in Danganronpa 2, maybe even the entire franchise. If she's not doing or saying something to help contribute with the trials, she's either lying about her involvement, (which is made even worst as she was seen as the primary suspect in Trial 2, but she did virtually nothing except withheld evidence to prove her innocence,) or saying unnecessary insults towards virtually everyone and getting away with it. Hell, I'm quite convinced that her own classmates didn't care about her or grew to loathe her, when they found her body, mostly because during that trial, roughly 98% of that trial focused on Ibuki and how she died. At least with some of the Danganronpa characters who're arguably more useless have the excuse of being dead, or have at least one or two moments to shine before they're either killed off by the culprit, or are the blackened in their respected case. So, what was Hiyoko's case?

Nah, Hiro from 1 is way more useless, and Toko is also pretty useless while actively rebutting you over dumb things. There are also quite a few instances in 2 of characters who don't contribute anything but give the dumbest rebuttals imaginable. Hiyoko helps get down to some of the truth in the first case and in the second case her reaction is completely understandable imo cus all the initial evidence points against her and she doesn't really have a way to defend herself other then "I didn't do it." Sometimes it's more reasonable to let other people defend you, and actually irl no matter what or how much evidence is in your favor or how smart or qualified you think you are you should leave the defense to someone else. Not to mention her only friend there died and she's being suspected of her death. I can understand her not being rational enough to do much in case 2. I wish we got more of her though as she just dies for basically no reason later

not saying hiyoko is useful or anything but the reason why they didn’t really discuss her death is because her death was last minute, originally nekomaru or fuyuhiko was supposed to die in chapter 3. but they switched hiyoko with fuyuhiko last minute causing chapter 3 to be rushed, hell they didn’t even discuss the weapon that murdered hiyoko.
