imo, for a 'teen prodigy' raised in the military, who admits he's into 'authority and rules', and who lives on the daily as part of a strict chain of command, the term 'captain' would mean more to him than just the title of the head of a sports team: it'd have the connotations of a relationship between a soldier and his captain. someone he trusts to make wise decisions and someone he respects deeply, because he's given her that trust. it'd be one of the highest compliments hunter's given on the show, if not the highest.

A post Promo art for Any sport in a storm episode where a nervous Hunter is looking at Willow while Gus is happy for both of them.A recent Dana Art is about the aftermath of king's tide where Both Hunter and Willow are comforting Gus while Hunter's Arm is wrapped around Willow who fell asleep. Hunter both comforting them while they sleep after what happened.Hunter is always been protective with Gus and Willow , so glad he found people who actually cared for him.

I think these two are just perfect together. They both are so protective of each other, it's so cute! It's a shame the show is being cut short, we definitely would've gotten to see more of them if we had a longer season 3/season 4. What I found super interesting is that Hunter was able to tell quite quickly that the 'Willow' from the illusion was not the real one, and that despite Gus being a much longer-term friend of Willow, was incapable of telling the difference (though I am aware that Gus is fairly young, and the differences were vague, so it makes sense that he didn't know) it just shows that Hunter is not only extremely observant, but has also learned picked up on the specific behaviours of Willow, and I think that's very sweet.

I think it was also because willow had only recently started to become more confident and because Gus had known her longer he didn't find shy, timid willow strange. Whereas hunter had only known strong confident willow and so her old behaviours were strange to him.

It may also be because they remember willow for different things. Sure, both of them know she is strong and brave, but Gus more primarily knows her for how kind and thoughtful she is. Since Hunter (at that point) mainly identified her by those strong character traits, it makes sense why he was able to realise when they weren’t there

Something I love is that every character that's close to Hunter has realized to some degree where his trauma is at. He doesn't protect himself where Belos is concerned, he just freezes right up. Luz noticed this and stood in front of Kikimora to defend him when Kiki was talking about Belos snapping him in half (and of course she took his place, because being brought to Belos would've been the worst possible thing for him). We see it when Gus calls Hunter's name to remind him they're there when Hunter has to force himself to tread over Belos's gooey body. And we see it here, when Belos is about to slash at everyone, Hunter just closes his eyes and doesn't move. He did that before when Belos cut off a piece of his hair. He's used to freezing up and just taking the abuse. Willow shields him without a second thought 7:44 . These people don't know what Hunter's been through fully, but they've given him coping mechanisms, they stick up for him when people say triggering things, and they protect him when he's too afraid or too conditioned to the abuse to protect himself.

He’s already annoyed with Luz in general but now she’s interrupting his conversation with someone he’s trying to get closer to hehehe First the audience (us) is told by Luz that **WILLOW** gave Luz Hunters contact info, so in our heads we are already associating it with Willow Then when Hunter sends the wrong message he says “wrong person” because of the use of the word person it’s safe to assume he’s talking about one person And since we already were told earlier that the person she got his contact from is Willow then it’s up for the Audience to put two and two together that it’s Willow who he was texting The way the writers do things on this show is so awesome!! This ship is so cute 💖 Also not to put down those who want to think the messsge was meant for the flier derby team, but with how much little time the series has left and how much they’re trying to show us Hunter and Willows connection, it’s obvious that rather than them try to show us that Hunter is getting along with the group, we just need to know that Hunter is getting along with Willow. The arc being developed isn’t about the team but about his and her dynamic together

I especially loved the ending bit of season 2 episode 20 where everyone thought Hunter was captured and Willow ran straight to the ship and tried hurrying to save Hunter also idk where i got this from, but didnt bellos's brother or something find a love interest making bellos believe he was too far gone? i feel like hunter finding a love interest (willow) could be another parallel to that and being one step closer to being similar to Caleb against Bellos

The way the line was set up insinuates that it was Willow he was taking to First the audience (us) is told by Luz that **WILLOW** gave Luz Hunters contact info, so in our heads we are already associating it with Willow Then when Hunter sends the wrong message he says “wrong person” because of the use of the word person it’s safe to assume he’s talking about one person And since we already were told earlier that the person she got his contact from is Willow then it’s up for the Audience to put two and two together that it’s Willow who he was texting The way the writers do things on this show is so awesome!! There was a cut scene confirmed by cissy Jones (Lilith) and some others on her most recent post hoot, where when Luz went to go up and see Amity, hunter went to follow only for willow and Gus to give them privacy. He didn't know why and they (or flapjack, idr) proceeded to tell him he would understand when he's older. Then arguing with flapjack about how he's older than all of them and he wants answers, and that's when it cuts to Luz and Amity looking out the window to see them all, and hunter all annoyed bc of the Convo.
