In all honesty, this is the most well-developed relationship I've seen between a couple in children's animation. It is so romantic and healthy. They are partners who elevate each other and help bring out the best side of the beautiful qualities they already had. I have experienced many romances in my time, from watching them through the most heartwrenching of shows and movies, to fully experiencing them through playing them out in videogames. Yet it is this romance between Luz and Amity that I just can't help but say is my favorite i have ever experienced in entertainment, and i experienced it in a Disney show orginally meant for kids of all places. It is cute, adorable, organic and as Luz would say, "REAL". I love everything about how these two truly love and support each other even in their lowest points. So many tv show especially children's TV shows will just like have them hate each other one minute and love each other the next without they actual in-between character development and they shows creators did an amazing just at not letting that happen they went from enemies to friendly acquaintances to friends, to best friends, to lovers so flawlessly and it didn't seem pushy or unrealistic. and that's part of why I love their relationship so much. bc I've always loved the enemies to lovers trope and this show just made me love it more a realized why loved it to begin with

When it came to her first real friend, Willow, Amity’s parents disapproved of Amity’s friendship with her. Ever since that day, Amity has hung out with the “popular girls” of the school, and she works so hard to be *the* top of her class - because it’s what her *parents* want. She acted so cruel to Willow and other people because of two things: 1) her parents disapproval or future disapproval of her new friends, and 2), she wanted to keep everyone far away from her so that they won’t get hurt by her, and so *she* won’t get hurt by them. When I say “so that she won’t get hurt by them,” what I mean is that she would be hurt by not being able to hangout with the people she relates to the most - and this circles back to her parents, mainly Odalia, and their disapproval. Due to this, Amity pushed people away in order to protect herself and ultimately her would-be friends. The way that she did this was extremely unhealthy, because she bullied and demeaned people “below her,” and she believed it was the right thing to do because her parents nurtured her into believing that. But then she met Luz. She tried to pull her bully act on Luz a countless amount of times, but instead of leaving Amity alone… she kept coming back. She *wanted* to be her friend, and Amity found herself wanting to be her friend too. Luz pulled Amity out of her toxic shell, and Luz got to see the real Amity: the one who loves Azura books, the one who’s actually easygoing and loyal to her friends, kind, funny, and smart, and ultimately, *the one her parents didn’t want the world to see.* Amity deserves Luz, and Luz deserves Amity.

Dude the Owl House evolved from being a happy kids show with something with actual plot, trauma, and emotions, the Owl crew really bumped it up and made the owl house one of, if not, the best show on Disney. The development between these two is so poignant yet so subtle. Starting out as enemies with Amity being a bully to Luz, they grow to being frienemies once they start communicating and eventually become friends by helping each other out. Amity grows more uncertain of how she feels around Luz, going from indifferent to the point of acting shy awkward around her (notice the blushing) and Luz's feelings for Amity develop later on the more they're together before becoming a couple. It's something you never would have seen coming when you watch the series from the beginning, but you can see all the subtleties throughout if you pay attention. I've seen a lot of couples in TV that just fall in love out of random, not out of chemistry but just because, sometimes even offscreen. Also, the fact that this is a kids program, where normally if a gay couple is ever shown, they're usually in the background or one of the supporting characters. This is the first time a main characters are shown to be LGBQT in a Disney show. Also, they're given the dignity of not only having them interact a lot but also treating them like a regular couple, like being gay isn't a big deal in this universe. This is way more progressive than I ever thought I would see in anything, let alone in a kids show.

@@michaelgualtieri651 I mean, it's not really being cut because of LGBT stuff. At least, that's not the main reason, wouldn't be shocked if it was subconsciously part of the decision. The main reason is that it's difficult to televise because of its serialized format. It's hard to run a show on Disney Channel that has continuous plot, because then people might open up the channel and be put into the middle of the show with no context. That said, it's still a dumb reason, because we have Disney+ now which allows for streaming, so it doesn't even really need to be episodic.

I grew up in the 90's and I think most of us know that most people in the 90's were not known for being nice to the LGBTQIA+ Community, whether it was an older or younger generation. After watching The Owl House and one day when I was at work, I got to thinking "I wonder if a show like The Owl House has made or difference or changed things in schools or the younger generation?" Later in the day, a group of teenage girls came into my work and two of them were holding hands and kissing. I guess it has made a great difference and it is good to see how things have changed for the better.
