@@pemguim1120 eh, I think there is an art to it and a certain build up. For example in "Stayed Away" there's a clear build-up to a song. If you're familiar with musicals you can almost feel a song coming and even if you aren't super familiar the instrumental starts playing while Val and Vox are still talking. That's usually the better way to way to setup songs (unless you're doing a Les Miserables style where it's basically just singing the whole way through). That being said, I think HH generally does a pretty good job at that, except for 2 of them. 1 is Respectless which I actually LOVE how sudden and surprising the song is, it takes both Velvette and the audience as a shock and I would say is the exception to the rule. But the 2nd is Hell's Great Dad which really has basically no transition and comes out of absolute nowhere imo. Don't get me wrong, the song itself is great and one of my favourites, but within the context of the show it feels a bit weird going right into a song that seems pretty much completely unprompted and only loosely related to the immediately preceding events.

So a couple things that are explained in episodes: The reason for the extermination is not because of overpopulation. That's the "excuse" given. It's because Hell rebelled and they want to stop that from happening again. So Adam suggested the exterminations. No one in heaven knows about them except Adam, Sera, and the exorcists. Until that song anyway. The song with Carmilla and Vaggie is a bit weird without visuals. They are not in the same place, but just singing at two different places at the same time. Just talking about similar things about different people. Vaggie about Charlie, and Carmilla with her family, Zestial, and hell. Charlie is a hell born and not a sinner. So she hasn't done anything to be sent to hell just was born there. Most other characters you see are sinners who have done something to be sent there, hence needing to be redeemed. Charlie's parents are Lucifer and Lilith. Lilith is human and Lucifer is a fallen angel. So yes her dad is an angel, just not part of heaven anymore. Alastor is very much intended to give off the vibes that you can't be sure whether to trust him or not. He has so far given no genuine reason for wanting to be there, wanting to help, or what he's been up to prior. So we don't know whether he just wants to help or if he's more likely trying to get Charlie to make some sort of deal with him to get control over her. He totally wanted to fuck with Lucifer though by calling himself Charlie's father.

1:50 You are 100% correct 2:58 Did you cut this or it this just how the video you're watching is? Because it cut away more than half the song. 3:38 Seraphim, the highest order of angels. The ones that have the masks are just the exorcists 5:54 Yes and that will become even more clean when Emily and Charlie start singing together 6:17 Context for this song: Charlie went to heaven to prove that a soul can be redeemed. We also learn that only the exorcists know about the extermination and that Sera, the high Seraphim, is the one who authorized it. So yes, Emily didn't know despite being a Seraphim. 6:59 What is implied is that it's to prevent hell from rising up against heaven. However there's been no evidence that hell actually PLANS on rising up against heaven, other than the Vees but they would be alone since no other Overlord would be ok with that plan. 8:37 Not just an angel, she's an exorcist "Whatever it takes" is the song that comes after "Respectless" and the one that reveals how the Exorcist died and who killed it. 17:52 Because this song comes first in the episode 19:15 Nope, he's doing the entire musical number just to piss off Lucifer 19:47 FALLEN angel. In more than anything, the father is Lucifer, thrown into hell with his wife lilith for offering Eve the apple giving her free will, his intentions were good but the angels refused to listen to his dream (a bit like Charlie), that’s why Charlie is a child, sinners can’t have children in hell.

If you look at Lucifers design youll see a lot of apple symbols and the 6 wings look like those of a lot of angels. All sinners are dead humans who went to hell. They visually look very different from each other (often having animal aestehtics and wearing clothes from the time perdiods they were alive in), every cast member except Charlie and Vaggie is a sinner. In Whatever It Takes the singers have actually never met. If you watch the actual music video, the scene cuts between them as Carmilla (The lady from Respectless) sings to her daughters (and Zestial to an extent) while Vaggie is alone but directing the lyrics towards Charlie.

The fun part about Mimzy interuppting that song, is that for nearly 10 years people had been waiting to see mimzy. She had been in the original plans for the series and a lot didnt know if shed officially be there. She was even supposed to be part of the main cast at one point. So her part in the song is fun toungue and cheek joke to the fact that "weve been waiting for mimzy, and now shes here!" Which is amazing lol Also, shes voice by the same actress as Spinel in Steven Universe, which fits mimzys vibe perfectly.

Vaggie is singing about wanting to keep Charlie safe and camilla is singing about keeping her children safe. Lucifer who sang with Charlie in more than anything is Jeremy Jordan.

The whole thing between Lucifer and Allistor is that Allistor is the type who always wants to be the one in control of things, to know he's the one in charge of any room he's in, but Lucifer is one of the very few beings in Hell that he just plain cannot intimidate at all and who could squish him like a bug if he tried, so instead Allistor is trying to assert dominance through attacking the strained relationship Lucifer and Charlie have.

12:05 Camilla is singing about how she'll do anything to protect her "daughters"(idk if they are actually her daughters) while Vaggie is singing about being there for Charlie and will do everything it takes to protect her. They're not related or associated with each in any way, but they both have the common ideal of protecting the ones they love. Hence why they are chosen to sing this song as some sort of duet

For clarification, it's probably already been said, Charlie's dad is lucifer so he is an angel and she is a half angel. Vaggie was an exterminator and a very good one according to Adam. Vaggie and Charlie are girlfriends and in "Whatever it takes", Vaggie is singing about Charlie and Camilla is singing about her daughters completely seperately and just happen to sing the same song through the magic of musicals.

A fun fact about Lucifer (Charlie's dad): He is voiced (both for dialogue and singing) by Jeremy Jordan, who you've heard before in Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure as Varian, who (I think) did a few of the songs that you listened to. Also, I would love to see it if you were to watch the full show! It's really good, and the music is so much better after seeing and hearing them in the context of the individual episodes.

The reason why Charlie looked ao distraught was probably because not only was vaggie qn angel, vut she was an exterminator. Charlie was girlfriends with someone whos killed thousands of her people, the people shes trying to save. Also, in Whatever It Takes, vaggie and carmilla arent involved with each other. They are both singing in different areas about different people (carmilla is singinf abt her children, vaggie is singing abt charlie Another edit: Charlie's parents are Lucifer and Lilith, so she was never a human.

"Why does this song sound like they're made by The Living Tombstone"? Because the person who wrote them (AND the songs from Helluva Boss) is Sam Haft, one half OF The Living Tombstone. Also! from my understanding, the "Genie From Aladdin" vibes were exactly what Lucifer's VA, Jeremy Jordan (He was Varian in Tangled!) was going for! :D
