I don’t know if someone has already mentioned this but I recently discovered that using a leather machine needle works like magic for sewing sequins! I often sew sequined fabric and was constantly breaking needles… No more!

The thread bars for the hooks, to close the bodice slit without being obvious when they were open, were a good idea! I like the eyelash yarn around the snowflake, to make it fluffy as well as glittery from the beads. When you were draping the skirt, I thought the bodice by itself looked like a fancy jacket.

I actually love the shape the hooks give the top. 👍

Even if the slit is on the "wrong" side, your dress totally delivers the "All I want for Christmas"-vibe. I really enjoyed watching you make this dress. To me, your decition to make it a little more modest really improves of the wearability of the outfit. I hope you'll be invited to many Christmas parties so that you can wear it many many times.

I have definitely referred to some fashions as “suitable only for the bedroom” usually ridiculously uncomfortable shoes. Or “photo shoot only” But I quite like: It’s fine as long as the wearer is the one editing the footage. That ads some excellent nuance.

Spectacular reveal (a particular reaction in "The Mask" comes to mind) but the humour and technical details are the highlight as always.

Thanks ! I like to have fun with the green screen reveal since I don't have cool places to film.

This is so beautiful! You can sew intact sequins slowly with a long wide zigzag stitch and possibly not go through so many needles

That turned out so beautifully!! Love the snowflake!! I love the idea of using glue to seal the back! It’s brilliant! I also would never have thought of that fabric as a backing. Darn now I want to pull out my beads and make something!

I couldn't laugh out loud at the reveal because I was watching it in the office...wait...what...no, I'm still working...oops 🤫🤭 I'm now a huge fan of yours after watching your works. Your sense of humour is like a warm, sunshine on a cold, boring day. 🥰

I love the fluffy snowflake! And of course the reveal is spectacular as usual (especially your trip and flashback to green screen). I seriously wonder how many wardrobe malfunctions Mariah Carey has had over the years...
@sonipitts
@sonipitts 2 жыл бұрын
In Mariah's case, I can guarantee that opening is pasted down like a kindergartner's craft project. But also, her version would likely be sewn onto a corset-like understructure that would prevent it from moving even if it wasn't. You can see how Mariah's boobs are smushed together to create max cleavage in the V-cut, and how the dress tucks up under her boobs, which stretch fabric won't do on it's own (without being held in place, it'll just make a straight line from bust apex to waistline). And a close peep shows some princess seaming that leads out of the armscye. That indicates the presence of some sort of corset-like understructures to make the dress look the way it does without letting the goods slip out through the front door when she moves.
