There is a better Version of Mori's ALL I WANT FOR XMAS, go Morissette Amon at Robertson place Galleria singing HALO and ALL I WANT FOR XMAS using Qritiko. 😊 this Version was in a large area in a shopping mall with a lot of background noise plus bouncing off the walls, other wise not bad, Mori's tone is deeper. 😊

Like what others pointed out, this is not a proper comparison because of the video/sound quality. Studio versus mall singing. That aside, they both sang well. Different styles. Sohyang has a nasal quality while Morissette has fuller and more resonace voice.

The next time you make a comparison between two performances, do it between two equals. Meaning, they do the same things and all factors are equal. This is not the first time you did compared Mori’s live version in a mall with bad audio and receptions against another artist performing in a studio and then you declared the other as superior than morissette. I never intended for this channel to be direct comparisons of artists to another artist. In fact, my goal is to select the artist and the song and listen to how each is interpreted by the other, whether that be by style or surroundings. My goal is to really get singers who don't complement each other as much as So and Morisette do. Honestly, while I thought So hyang did an awesome job and the studio did her well, however hearing what Morisette could do in that old mall really showed off her rare talent. If you look at comments on this and other videos with the same type of "obstacles" for one artist the comments usually don't even mention this aspect. Basically, despite her surrounding Morisette killed it! Again, I thank you for watching and your comments are always welcome. I trust you'll come back. Jeff

Two opposites in this. Sonyang, kept it her voice forward in her mask, nasal which sounded very nice. Mori had more resonance and it was very well done.

Sohyang Park resembles Celine Dion in style. Nasal👃 Morissette Amon is much closer to Mariah Carey. Either technique works. 👍 👍 Wait ✋ until you see Morissette Amon sing O Holy Night at Star Mall. Note 📝 I did visit Star Mall years ago.

I love the fullness and resonance in Morissette’s voice. I find that some of the ways Sohyang pronounces words ends up way too nasally. I can see that Mori had a lot more stage presence and was much more interactive with the crowd which I feel should be a factor in analysing a performance. IMO Sohyang is great if you want to hear just a bunch of runs, but if you want to really hear a song and have it interpreted and performed with perfect dynamics and stage presence, then mori always wins.

I agree. Stage presence or stage performance is just as important when singing in front of a live audience...and Morissette can dance while singing, see her JLo medley (Jennifer Lopez) and "Run the Show".

First of all the recorded audio quality of the 2 videos are not equal. Sohyang sang in a studio while Morisette sang in a mall store. The former would have an advantage over the latter in terms of soundstage... Despite of this, it's quite evident that Mori takes the prize. There's nobody better in terms of vocal dynamics when singing Mariah Carey's songs. That's just the way it is..... All love for Sohyang but it would be Morisette all day long! ❤

Everyone knows that morissettte amon is the heir of Mariah Carey. Only she can make her own songs. The others try. His live voice in a mall, sounds better, than anyone, performed in the studio. Soyang's version is quite anonymous. You hear it and after 2 minutes you've already forgotten it. Song not suitable for his classic voice, too nasal and screaming. Totally different voice from Mariah and Morissette Amon who use a lot of soft falsetto and various effects. Soyhang has a classical background, too restrictive and rigid, to interpret songs full of runes, riffs and rapt passage of registers, from soft falsetto to chest, as Mariah and Miss Amon do. Soyhang, doesn't have the technical skills to perform passes
