Please NOTE:- * R.K. Narayan won the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1960 for his novel The Guide. He was the first recipient of the award for English literature. He did not win the Award for Financial Expert as mentioned in the video. Deep Apologies for my mistake. 🙏

Yoknapatawpha County is a fictional Mississippi county created by the American author William Faulkner, largely based on and inspired by Lafayette County, Mississippi, and its county seat of Oxford (which Faulkner renamed "Jefferson"). Faulkner often referred to Yoknapatawpha County as "my apocryphal county".

Benson Medal: In 1980, he received this award from the Royal Society of Literature for his contributions to literature. Sahitya Akademi Fellowship: In 1994, he received this award for lifetime achievement in literature. Padma Vibhushan: In 2000, he received this award for his literary achievements. Rajya Sabha nomination: From 1986-92, he was nominated to the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of India's Parliament. Honorary doctorates: He received honorary doctorates from the University of Leeds, the University of Delhi, and the University of Mysore. Filmfare Award: He received this award for the best story for the film adaptation of The Guide. American Academy of Arts and Letters: In 1982, he was elected an honorary member of the American Academy

According to google he has got sahitya akademi award for his both work but in different years. The Guide (1960) and The Financial Expert (1951)

R. K. Narayan won Sahitya Academy Award in 1960 for " The Guide" not for " The Financial Expert". The novel "The Financial Expert" was published in 1952 then how can he get Sahitya Academy Award in 1951 for the same book???
