I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. Today is January 18. Today is the Festival of The Confession of St. Peter. Matthew 16:13-19 is usually read on this day.

"Truth and grace; we need both...." Such good teaching. Father God, let my thoughts, beliefs, attitudes and actions line up with those of Jesus. May I speak to all with truth and grace and love, conveying Your acceptance. You have accepted me in Christ, Lord. I know that doesn't mean you condone and approve of my sin, but you are loving me toward freedom from it. Help me to express that same love and acceptance to others. Amen
