That wasn't even a concept back in 1974. That character was developed by a different group of producers set in a different timeframe altogether. A coincidence. Yes, but nothing at the time was even in that realm of thought going forward.

Gloria was so hypocritical, claiming woman's liberation but still expected the "big, strong husband" Mike to give Mrs Bunker an explanation. Rolling my eyes at the double-standard.
