I've had a little jump-it box for years, and if you charge it full the first time, like most directions say. You won't have to charge it again for a long time. And it can be used several times before it needs recharging. And mine is used on big pickups. When my daughter and I were in Quartzsite and worried about the doors being left open. I just removed their light switches on the door and we used other lights. Also others wouldn't know when we opened the doors. 😂 On my other pickup I removed the light bulb that would come on when the door was opened. Some vehicles have a light under the hood also. Those things happen, I recently bought another, couldn't find one like I have. But got a Stanley at Walmart. They had several different kinda to look at and compare. Thanks for the updates 😊

Glad that AAA found you and were willing to go to where your SUV was, off pavement. A shame to use up one of your service calls, though I'm not sure how they count a jump start, versus a tow. I've had a nice lithium jump starter set aside for you for several months, after I upgraded to one that also has an air compressor built into it. I guess I should have insisted on mailing it to you before you left Tucson! You can privately email me about where to ship it, or whether you still want to wait until I hopefully arrive sometime after Christmas. Probably better to ship it ASAP! Please also check for a date code on your car battery. Part of the problem might be a battery nearing the end of its life, where it might have made it through the day OK with a good new one. Usually there is a plastic label where they mark or remove little labels for month and year of installation. Or just show a nice closeup of how the battery looks, in a video, so we can guess how old it might be. I just installed a new 12V battery in my 2017 Prius Prime. I put in one that is physically a bit bigger than original, and electrically has more reserve capacity than original. Plus it is AGM rather than regular (wet acid, whether or not refillable vs "maintenance free"). As luck would have it, it is an extremely high quality battery made by AC Delco, generally for GM cars like yours, but as long as the "group size", battery terminal location/type, and quality level are suitable, brand doesn't matter.

It looks like a 2018 Equinox (in all trim levels and engine sizes) takes BCI battery size Group 48. The specs call for an AGM battery rather than regular (wet or maintenance free) battery. I found that Summit Racing had the best prices on AC Delco batteries when I bought mine. Summitt calls your battery ADO-48AGM, and it is $166.99, and they are in stock. For special order with shipping in a month, the similar ADO-48AGMHR has 130 minutes of reserve capacity vs 120 for the 48AGM, and it is also $2 less for reasons unknown, maybe the savings of not keeping them in stock. The difference between the two is not huge, though if not in a hurry to replace the battery, you might as well get the "High Reserve" one, because reserve capacity is exactly what you ran out of this time. Probably due to battery age rather than the difference in specs between models of new batteries. Many auto parts stores (Auto Zone, Advanced Auto Parts, O'Reilly) will install a battery for free if you buy it there, but they make up for that by high battery prices, usually for worse batteries. Better to wait until you have a friend with tools willing to spend 10 minutes installing it for you, then order the AC Delco online. I'd be happy to install one if your end up needing one, but I'm still not 100% sure of making it out to Q as planned. I think O'Reillys will take a used battery (even if you bought nothing there) and give you $15 or so of store credit for it. Most places selling batteries in person require exchanging your old battery to get their advertised price. But Summit and most online places do not, so you end up being able to sell the old battery to a scrap yard, or get O'Reillys credit for it.

Don't leave doors ajar, don'y use dome light, don't leave radio-music, don't open the back + just...Seriously?? This SUV cost money?? Car payments + car dictates road rules? Really? The car requires it? Do This, Don't Do That. Funny, that's why I left home. You'll find a routine and all of these things will be 2nd nature. I lived in and travelled in my pick-up. They were open intermittently throughout the day. I think the problem was that I never turned the car on. I read online that the hatchback door uses the most battery. I know, I learned something from the experience. Thank you very much for watching! 😊

@@bethcloudsandsky yeah, that’s what I was thinking it might be time for a new battery, especially if you’ve never replaced it yet. It’s inevitable eventually. It’s worth peace of mind to have a new battery unless your car is newer. 🤷‍♀️. You’ll figure it out.
