Someone wrote this and it stuck with me Whiteknight and Arkos inverted stories Pyrrha liked Jaune cause he saw her for her Weiss hated Jaune because she thought he saw only her name. Pyrrha saw the man Jaune could be. Weiss saw him for just what he was at the time. Now with time and maturity from both Jaune and Weiss. Weiss has become the woman Jaune saw her as in Beacon. And Jaune has grown into the kinda man Pyrrha saw him becoming. The Kind of man Weiss would love.

This would legit be genius if RT actually pulls this off in Volume 10. And if I can add to that, Jaune being with Weiss would also signify that he moved on from Pyrrha. Not saying this to disrespect Pyrrah at all, I love her and the stuff they did with Jaune, but he should never be stuck on her forever. Pyrrha was amazing but she's gone. Jaune however is still here and he needs to life his life without her. Never forget, but move on and be a better person because of the memories you had with that person. That is what being with Weiss could mean in addition to all those other things you mentioned in your comment, it's evidence of character progression and healing for Jaune and it ironically, would be with the girl who initially passed him over.

If they do become canon, I like that what essentially makes Weiss fall for Jaune was not Jaune being cool, but seeing the more vulnerable side of him and realizing how much of a caring person he is. How, after going through so much grief, Jaune remains so strong and tries to protect others. That and Weiss now got a preview of how Jaune will look in a decade or two. Early investment.

Actually I do believe they’ll become canon. Which I know upsets the WR shippers but in all honesty. RT isn’t gonna have all four members be lesbian for eachother. Especially in Weiss’ case who’s only ever shown interest in men.. she’s also very forward with someone she has interest in. Ruby they’ll probably pair off with Oscar. The only character she’s ever had a scene that was intended as romantic. It was dorky yeah.. but fit those two characters.

It is incredible seeing the evolution of their relationship. Volume 9 was an oasis for us White Knighters (that HUG will be all I care about for the next ten years), but I really love the small moments we got like Jaune having eyes for Weiss (even though he was hugging Blake!) and him keeping a supporting hand on her while she was exhausted (he didn't even use his semblance to boost her aura, he was just supporting her).

Juane Started as a huntsman he didn’t know how to become in Vol 1-3, Vol 4-9 Was when Juane became the true hero he needed to be, and tried to protect everyone he cares about. It was shown when he begged Weiss to be okay after she was impaled, and when he expressed relief his semblance healed her.

Ah yes, there is nothing more classic in fairy tales than the Knight and the Princess. Also, one small detail that I noticed is the fact that Jaune had Weiss’s scroll number already in volume 3. Weiss probably started to respect him a lot more after the school dance, I really love their relationship so far, and I can’t wait for volume 10 (if we ever get it 🤞🏻)

I actually found it very cute that Weiss was the one to have a heart to heart conversation with him when Jaune was at his lowest. He’s always saved or helped her. So to see it come full circle. It’s honestly proof of how well written these two are. One started out spoiled, entitled and so rude that the mere idea of anyone she isn’t interested in is just another person after her name. Jaune isn’t the same weirdo who can’t take no for an answer. Hes dorky still but not cringey. The Weiss of now I can easily see entertaining the idea of a date with Jaune. Just cause she can see the same man Pyrrha once did.

This is my favorite shipping of all time. I love the classic of the spoiled rich girl getting with the goofy wanna hero. These 2 just complement each other. They have what the other needs. One tries to live up to the family name and the other tries to define it. The just look so good together. Look how far they've come. Weiss didn't even like Jaune at first and now she sees him as a very important friend. It's clear she's very happy to have him in her life. It's very easy to 2 people who've known each other that long, been through that much together and have such a close friendship to fall for each other. I think everything was baby steps to a very long path to romance for them. I think this will be canon in the end. Plus, if RWBY is about fairy tales, what is more classically fairy tale that the Knight and the Princess getting together?

This ship will forever boggle my mind, like the character development is actually that insane. White Knight somehow bungled itself into this amazing narrative of any ship out there. This wasn't even planned. Just an ad lib that was so bad early on when RT pushed it that, when they did finally push the brakes, somehow, after some time, it got better. They handled it pretty cringe early on and realized it was maybe more important to concentrate on the characters than actual romance which led to them both being much more mature and, if they tried it again, it may actually work because of this brief moment of self-improvement. And, this whole video does not only describe on how RT handled it, but how the characters themselves handled it (Jaune and Weiss). It's so weirdly meta yet feels not forced at all. And, the weirdest part is that this odd limbo of possibility could never have happened without the awfulness and backlash of early volume WK. This is a ship that only got better when it got sunk and no one wanted to man it anymore. It somehow picked itself up from being torpedoed and can come back stronger. Like, Jaune unlocking his semblance to save Weiss wasn't because of his early crush but due to a need to not let anyone else die. He was finally seeing Weiss outside of his crush which led to his soul evolving. Ironically, Early Jaune would never have been able to do this. Like, this was volume 5. I don't believe the writers wrote that with such WK things in mind. They just needed a healer and Weiss to job so she show up with a summon later on. They did not expect to voodoo up WK back from the dead much like Jaune did to Weiss. To this day, people are still salty they never addressed that. Like, Weiss just had to say thanks and I'm sure it'd be off to the races. The perfect cherry on top is that this is Kara's favourite ship. Like, wtf. If we ever going to have a volume 10, I just hope they'll continue to explore their relationship, whether be platonic or romantic (which I'd prefer)!

I do tend to think the writers planned Whiteknight out early on, the two being cringy/misunderstanding/immature in the first volume and a half was all part of the plan. That allows for the character growth we see them work on bit by bit throughout the volumes. It would be nowhere near as strong of a dynamic without that start and the dedication to the growth of the characters as individuals outside of their relationship to each other imo.

About the show not showing any interactions after the V5 fight, I do find it rather fitting that in V9 Weiss was the most effective member of the team in regards to reaching out to him in a way that mattered: she got to the core of why he was obsessed over his protection of the Paper Pleasers, she snapped him out of his rage against Ruby, and most importantly affirmed that he shouldn't define himself by his failures, that he's already a brave and good person. It feels like she naturally developed both a good read on him as a person and has a good opinion on him

Better than how they started out anyway; a totally one sided crush from a clueless inept dork on someone who only looked down on him as another jerk who was only into her good looks and family wealth/name (granted she did have legit reasons for thinking that way; after all that’s the very reason her spineless bastard of a father married her mother for). Over time however as the both of them grew and matured more they formed a much healthier friendship based on mutual respect and trust. I’m sure talking to her mom helped to alleviate some of that pain but you know it only came back full force when he was forced to kill Penny, and the years of isolation on top of all that. I hate being dumb. Sometimes I'll watch this show and a moment will hit me where I realized I'd just missed an entire aspect of the show because I chose to hyperfocus on only a few plot points. As the series progressed and matured I had to do a bit of rewatching to make sure that I wasn't hallucinating [insert randomly thoughtful narrative thread] and it actually exists and has existed before the moment I picked up on it. I'm constantly caught off guard by extremely interesting details that I straight up did not see at all initially. It helps that, as the series progressed, the writing ability has just... I mean, it isn't even comparable. They're pulling off ideas that I would have never imagined them touching in the past.

Jaune carries a heavy burden from Pyrrha's death. While it may not have been a deep romantic crush initially, Jaune tried to respond to Pyrrha's feelings and eventually developed his own feelings for her. They were on the path to potentially falling in love, or at least considering the possibility, but their story ended tragically. Jaune's regrets about not being stronger and his sorrow for not being able to reciprocate Pyrrha's love led him to close off his heart. It doesn't mean that Jaune completely gives up on his relationship with Weiss, but his grief and regrets have made him lose some of his ability to empathize with romantic situations. Throughout the series, Jaune tries to be strong and the calmest member of the group. He strives to become the leader his teammates want him to be. He does become stronger in the end, but there's a sense of loneliness within him. As Alyx said in the illusion, "maybe it's time for a change, to be the kind of person you always wanted to be." Perhaps it's time for Jaune to find his own compassion and happiness, not just dream of being a hero or having a partner, and to let go of the past. Regarding Weiss, she may have initially appeared to be a bit spoiled. She had her own romantic ideals, like the "princess meeting a prince charming" script, but she also had the advantage of being reasonable and willing to work on her own shortcomings. In the beginning, not many girls may have been interested in Jaune. Despite being handsome, he acted childish and often seemed foolish. However, as Weiss became teammates with Jaune, she gradually noticed his sense of responsibility and emotional maturity. I don't believe Weiss started liking Jaune in Volume 9; their relationship had already developed beyond just being best friends in earlier volumes, even if they hadn't expressed it verbally or through actions obviously. Some may argue that Jaune and Weiss didn't seem like a good match, but I believe they had similar souls. They both displayed calmness and prioritized completing tasks over their personal feelings. I truly hope that the Rooster teeth team can give Jaune and Weiss a satisfying ending.

What would be interesting but most likely never shown is Jaune with slight PTSD and Weiss helping him through it. Despite coming to terms with many things, other stuff surely must have stuck. 1. Maybe a fear of clocks. Just the ticking of a clock perhaps sends him off. 2. Aside from the journey with Alex and her brother, he had no human contact. So upon return this could either: a) drive him crazy if left entirely alone in a place for too long b) cause him be slight clingy 3. Night terrors perhaps? If not then definitely his morning mental alarm clock. The guy trained himself to wake up at a specific time! So when he wakes up he either stills believes he’s in the Evermore or disoriented. As mean as it is, I want to see the poor boy suffer some trauma. It can’t just all be wiped clean, right? The only evidence given to us at the end is some white hair amongst his yellow and his broken sword. I better see bit more evidence than that. With the traumas it could bring JNR closer again since Nora and Ren would have believed Jaune dead. Team healing. And as I previously stated, Weiss could connect further with him. Perhaps N and R notice him acting strange at times or even witness him lose it. Weiss could explain to them what their leader went through and how to help him. Well, either way, joining back up, Jaune would have tell N and R what happened to him. How much is the question. Just some thoughts. Let’s go WhiteKnight ❄️🤍💛⚔️

I was surprised with how this ship got revived. After Jaune gave up on Weiss way back, i stopped shipping them, and shipped him with Pyrrha, until she died. Afterwards, i stopped shipping Jaune with anyone, and when Jaune and Weiss met again, i was pleased that they saw each other as friends, but i still didn't ship them, i was just glad they got along as friends. But in volume 9, after seeing how stronger and more mature both Weiss and Jaune got, and just how kind and supportive Weiss was, i was impressed by her development, and really started shipping them again. They've both been through a lot, lost a lot, and it felt natural, it felt right. I was just glad to see their development as characters and friends.

From the beginning jaune was just a simple huntsman boy student and he liked Weiss, as Weiss rejected him and only see him as a nuisance. And after losing pyrrha, jaune was broken, 🙁 ( and he's not the only one..😭) then all the gang went their separated ways , time went on , they all got back together at haven academy, next , Weiss got death flagged but jaune saved her. Later jaune been maturing himself, at atlas , and after sacrificeing penny , jaune was so destroyed.. so since then, all those years he spent , he wanted to be the hero to make up for it.. but Weiss cheered him up, that even thou the best OF the best failed , they was still courageous and good. 21:56 - 22:22 that part I love it the most..😭 and please dont hate me but from the beginning I've been getting the feeling that jaune and Weiss should end up together. They went through so much and they been good friends now , and Weiss now treats jaune as a good friend and jaune does the same to Weiss . they both respected each other and I hope one day they'll see that they'll like each other..😊 I'm all for White knight ship ! ❄🛡

That call in volume 3 between the two was always interesting to me regarding their relationship. Whether they end up together or just good friends, Jaune, out of all the people he knew, called Weiss SPECIFICALLY to save Pyrrha. It could be argued that he tried Ruby first but her scroll was broken, but A) we simply will never know that since it wasn’t shown and B) if he called Weiss to contact Ruby as well, why didn’t he ask Weiss where Ruby was? Hell, the only time someone besides Jaune, Weiss, or Pyrrha talks or is talked about in that conversation is when Weiss says “We will.” That’s it, basically no one else is brought up besides those three. Jaune needed someone to save his (basically) girlfriend and his first choice is Weiss. Again, they certainly might not eventually end up together but that scene really showed us the level of respect and trust the two had for each other way back in volume 3.

I think once Jaune grew out of the little brother lovesick puppy stage and actually made a real connection with Weiss as a friend and team mate, that's when the real potential for them getting together begun. watching the first few seasons, I remember thinking it would never happen. now, I think it's very likely to happen. especially with the very deliberate pairing up in the final scene. Blake and Yang to one side of Ruby, Weiss and Jaune to the other.

Much appreciated for the video. I definitely didn't like the idea of WhiteKnight until Vol 9 when we now saw a more matured Jaune and the potential the two could have when both of them matured. Though I personally like the ship, I'm not confident in White Knight actually happening. About the beginning, its worth noting that jaune acted ridiculously like a ladiesman because of "my dad told me that the girls would like that" and that's what prevented everyone to see what he was, picturing his actions as "he is a prick being nice or tiring just for x" when in reality he was a goofyball that just wanted connections. Weiss thought that he was like the other boys and that he wanted her because of her status despite him seeing so much in her as you can see in his chat with Ren: that was the real Jaune, respectful caring and uninterested, the one Pyrrha saw. Time and things had to happen to let Jaune abandon that facade and let everyone see who he was, including protecting and helping Weiss with pure intentions (apart from his saviour complex)
