No. He wasn't. He was realizing that he might lose or die if he doesn't end as if broly was keeping up with him fused AND blue, gogeta stood no chance unfused, so he did two final attacks right after another. He didn't know he punched broly out of uncontrolled ikarri state. He truthfully only saw the golden hair and thought if he didn't end broly with the big bang Kamehameha he might have lost. Then frieza would lose as he is weaker than broly and gogeta at this point , and then beerus might have had to step in. He didn't want to take that chance. He was glad he was sent away without dying towards the end because he knew canon broly wasn't evil.
