Grian’s Minecraft Life SMP includes 3rd Life, Last Life, Double Life, and Limited Life. We’ve gotten to see many patterns that the players have, whether they’re good or bad. But who is the best Minecraft Life series player? I’m ranking every member based on their skills of surviving, getting kills, and cleverness from all 4 seasons of the SMP, so stay tuned!

I say Scar should have been higher. He can get insanely lucky. hence the water bucket clutch in double life i believe? the one with the panda sanctuary. no one expected it. you can even hear Tango say this: he's gon...what?! In every life series tango was always chatty but the insane luck scar got there he couldn't even speak for two minutes. Etho's was completely dumbfound by scar insane luck. you can say it can really come in clutch sometimes. I say scar has earn 13th.

Actually Pearl only won because of something Cleo was not ready for. Australians hate getting up between 5-7 am they call it the zombie hour. During this time their personalities and skills completely change as if they become someone else. Pearl was fully taken by the zombie hours. she became insanely good at pvp. that's the only reason she won against cleo. that last strike struck cleo at the exact moment she was slightly below pearl giving pearl the critical hit that cause enough knockback. to cause cleo to go far enough to take fall damage. She even admited that she was expecting that cleo would come out on top anyway. and when daylight saving hit australia during Limited life 5 am pearl was beginning to return. if they had waited for daylight savings to happen in Australia where pearl lives she whould have been in the four way battle and maybe even also plan a betrayal.

Joel and Etho were so powerful in double life because Joel is crazy and Etho balanced him out with the logic and cautiousness. If Joel cared loads about self-preservation on the series he could be top 5 on here, but I love how he makes terrible decisions as it makes his videos extra funny

yep! the only reason he was so careful in Double life is because there was Etho's life on the line i think if their allyship was just them staying together but not connected by a life, Joel would be his usual reckless self it's funny seeing him being rated below Mumbo tho lol

the more calculating and careful version of joel would just be scott scott and joel are by far the two best pvpers in the entire series (probably also why joel tends to target scott quite a bit, because he knows that scott could easily handle most of the people in the series without too much difficulty) if you take joel's pvp abilities and add logic/caution to it, it would just be a carbon copy of scott, so i think its probably more entertaining for the series for joel to stay as this highly capable but completely wreckless beast because it leads to a lot of great moments but joel definitely does deserve to win once, alongside cleo, etho, scar and bdubs

I feel like Scar was placed too low and BigB was placed too high. Scar had some of the most insane plays of the Life series (killing Ren & Martyn, starting session 5 of LL with 7 lives, the water bucket clutch, being the last green, being the first to kill 5 people in a single session...) and even though he does die a lot, his good plays make up for it. BigB on the other hand, like you said, is good at bystanding. The rest? Not so much. The only reason he was the last green in Third Life is because he missed a session.

And the thing is to, he actually has some of the most kills in the entirety of the life series (I learned that from a tier list. Him Grian and Joel were very high up) and the fact that in 3rd life he died so soon and survived so long is crazy. And saying he was carried by Grian made me a bit upset😅😂 Grian IS good at the game but since winning 3rd life he hasn’t survived as close to the end in the other games. (No hate to Grian cause I really do love him but yknow)

I think Joel and Scott are the 2 best players in terms of PvP, which might be why Joel tends to target Scott so often. Joel overall is more reckless compared to Scott's very cautious nature. Im not complaining though, Joel's content is always hilarious.

I think you may be giving Etho and Ren slightly too much credit (though I do also somewhat appreciate you putting them so high, because a lot of people actually underrate them!), and Pearl and Joel FAR too little credit. Joel is arguably the best pvper, though I understand that's not all that contributes to this list, and he has made some pretty stupid plays... But Pearl I think you just underrate in general. She's an excellent survivalist and has the highest average placement for a reason, and she's one of the best pvpers too (only beaten by the obvious three, being Scott Martyn and Joel)! Overall I'd bump her up to 3rd, but that's just my opinion!

Scar should be higher imo. Sure he's clumsy BUT he's fantastic at using his charm to get him out of as many situations as gets him into, getting other Lifers to do his bidding and playing both sides. You never quite know where you stand with Scar which means you constantly have to be on your game. Mumbo should be lower than Scar at the very least, but I also think if Mumbo embraced his redstone and used hia skills for evil he'd be a force to be reckoned with. I REALLY hope we see this in the future.

Scar's ability to talk himself out of situations is incredible. As much as he gets a bad rap for being like a used car salesman in the first two series, he said it himself "why does nobody give me any credit for being a good salesman?" cause even though everyone knows he's a scam artist, people still keep coming to him to buy stuff knowing that he will always have something to trade and be open to bartering. I'm honestly surprised at his ability to manipulate situations where people are very directly threatening him and come out unscathed, only to die to something incredibly stupid 5 minutes later.

@@fennykusumawati9947 Scott scarifying himself was the FINAL reason why she won but there’s plenty of other reasons that lead to that prior to the very end. She 1v2d Bdubs and Impulse and killed Cleo, and generally just outlived everyone else. You got to recognize her survivability and her underestimated pvp skills. Also, the life series isn’t so much about winning but more so creating interesting and collaborative content. Scott is on the dramatic side of things and his sacrifice very much had its place in the life series.

The best he did was help them stay alive a little easier, that's it. I didn't expect Etho to be that high! I honestly thought Pearl would've ranked higher than Etho, as she has survived longer than him in all of the series she has participated in. I can see how because of Etho's encyclopedic minecraft knowledge, as well as his ability to create simple farms for short series, why he is placed so high. He has been placing moderately high since last life, and though people say he dropped off in limited life, Etho outlived many people who had more time than him during the final session, as he consistently got kills. I think he proves to be one of the best teammates to have for sure.

I would argue Cleo goes much higher on this list, because of how strongly she swings into her social engineering abilities. she's said it herself, people seem to think she's so powerful they don't want to fight her. coupled with the fact she can lie and sniff out a lie with near certainty, I's say she deserves a higher placing

As I Joel fan, I actually don’t mind where u placed him despite what other ppl have said haha. He is incredibly risky and doesn’t ever rly get many allies(which is what makes his series so entertaining). However, saying Joel is decent at pvp is such an understatement. Quite easily the best Pvper by far but usually goes for the more “for fun” route.

I think the same, but I also think if Joel was actually trying to win, he could be in the top 5 on this list. He’s amazing at pvp, building, surfing, etc, but he tries to lean his videos more towards the fun side for his viewers, and so will usually take risks. If he applied himself, this would be a different conversation.

okay so I took the sum of each member's placements and divided by the sum of the number of players across the seasons in which they've participated to get a score reflecting their average placement. Lower score means better placement and here are the results. Note that I'm not claiming this represents skill, but the results certainly are interesting. I actually agree with this a lot more I think it fits a lot better because it’s not just pvp in an arena. It’s using the game and the story and your survival skills… peal has made the server fear her and that means something. Couple that with good pvp and survival skills and you have someone who is good at this specific PvP style.

Cleo deserves more credit, she has an amazing balance between crazy sadism and rational intelligence, her social side of the game is better, her playing this season with etho and grian will make her do even better, if Scott joined that team they would go on a rampage

I don't think people give Pearl enough credit. She was INSANE in Double Life and some people say that she only won because of 5 am Pearl, but 5 am Pearl is Pearl, always had that PVP! The only think 5 am Pearl gave Pearl was the craziness and courage to take giant risks like fighting Impulse + Bdubs AND Cleo + Martyn BY HERSELF, she easily could've just hit them once and ran off to let her dogs kill them but she brought the intensity! Also I think a few times in Limited Life she did die on purpose because she thought as a previous winner she had too much time compared to other non winners, E.G. her creeper death where she just stood there and let it blow up...? It also is quite hard to rank Pearl because unlike Lizzie and Mumbo who also joined new in Last Life, she was REALLY good! I think that Scott does deserve 1st place in this ranking but Scott doesn't really take risks or put himself on the line to let other non winners have a chance and that's why he gets so far every time (minus 3rd life) Obviously Scott is cracked at PVP too but this is also a reason he gets far. No hate btw and I do actually really like Scott as a youtuber and I do respect everyone's opinions :D

Scar did so well in 3rd Life because his best weapon is his silver tongue. He was able to swindle people out of their gear, distract Ren and Martyn enough for Grian to set up a trap, and he got BDubs to turn on his oldest remaining ally for a clock. But because he was so good at using his silver tongue in the first season, people have been more wary in following seasons, I can’t remember who said it, but someone said, “Don’t let him talk or you’ll sign your life away.” Or something to that effect. And throughout the seasons we’ve seen less and less of him using his silver tongue. But honestly, I just think that’s really awesome. He’s like Loki. In lots of media where Loki is a character, his enemies try to not let him or his children speak because of their silver tongues. That’s what Scar is now. The Lifers saw how formidable he was with his words in 3rd Life and now they have to try their hardest to not let themselves be tricked by him.

I think it's unfair to say Scott did nothing. The Divorce Quartet were stronger because they weren't with their soulmates for starters. Both sets had 2 health bars in a fight instead of one like everyone else. Plus, since they weren't with their soulmates, their soulmates could eat while safe to regen health. Scott was busy with the social game while Pearl was dealing with the PVP. Those are two different areas that often interact, but you need to play both to win, not just one.

But that would add repeat teams. Dogwarts or Renchanting (which I think sounds like a cult, but good pun), was in 3rd life when Martyn and Ren teamed, Mean Gills and the other 12,000 names the were considering, was in ⌚ Limited Life, where Scott and Martyn teamed. In Last Life, Martyn and Grian were in the same group, The Southerners, making them have already teamed. Martyn has literally teamed with all of them before, he has good taste. Grian and Ren would be sick though, or Ren and Scott, or any combination that didn't overlap, but all of those would be cool.

I think something that may not make them the best players, but some of the longest lasting is charisma. Mainly seen in BigB, Scar, and Martyn. People regularly make awful deals with Scar and don't even seem to know why; Martyn constantly sneaks around and people just laugh it off 90% of the time when they find him - he also even managed to get Cleo to forgive him; and BigB just goes with the flow of everything, which while it can get him into trouble, usually means that he slips out of trouble. Also, people (even Scar, who's also super charismatic) have said they just don't want to kill him. Great video vary well made. Mcc isn't a good measure of how good someone is at pvp as scar, Grian, Jimmy and most of the people here have made it to Mcc. I would say that Smallishbeans is better then you think at pvp although his showing in the series isn't the best.

Yea I wasn’t using MCC to measure their PvP skills, I was using it more to see what other experience they have with PvP other than the life series. Though there are many other ways of determining prior experience too. I used MCC because many of the lifers have already competed against/with each other in MCC

spoilers for Secret Life I already probably wouldn't have agreed with Scar's placement before slsmp _(even though I understand that he may be difficult to rank because he's a bit of a wildcard)_ but now after the Secret Life finale it's very funny to see him be in second to last place on this adjfhjdskf A lot of the criticisms of the list in these comments I do also agree with _(Joel being too low or at least not giving his PVP enough credit, Pearl not getting enough credit, Cleo probably belonging a place or two higher, Mumbo maybe a little lower, Grian being very high up in my own mental tier list already in Seasons 1-4 but now ESPECIALLY after the stuff he pulled in Secret Life, etc)_ but yaknow. Making a list and ranking things is hard, as is knowing the ins and outs of 17 (now 18) different creators 🤷

I think Pearl is arguably the best player on the server, in the seasons she’s been in she averages the highest place over all in the 3 seasons she’s been in, and is a good team mate and solid at pvp. While Scott has finished high in a lot of seasons he also didn’t really do to hot in 3rd life which is why I would rank him 3rd. I think Martyn is 2nd

This, I think Scar should be a liiiitle higher, he is not that bad a PVP and to be honest I think he sometimes just plays goofy for the entertainment, he is there for the FUN more than the WIN, but that doesn't mean he is as bad as OP made him sound. He can be a real menace, I just think he prefers to be more laidback and funny

Nah i disagree with scar being 15 i think he's up there with smajor what makes scar scary is his unpredictability you don't know what he's planning to do and his bow skills are next to none in the life series he even out bow grian and that guy can 1v4 in mcc dodgebolt lastly his addiction for chaos and surviving that chaos most of the time and all of his chaotic plans works like seriously how is that guy survived with all of his chaotic plans and the only reason he died by his own clumsiness not by pvp but his self only scar can kill scar LOL

the biggest reason why scott is so good and in these is because he's CALCULATED, every decision he makes is smart and he doesn't take risks or make enemies unless it's necessary. in last life he, pearl and later cleo were attempted to be trapped many times, but managed to survive and were themselves relatively peaceful. he was the only one who made the decision to fail his boogeyman curse willingly, knowing if he tried to kill anyone it would cause unnecessary tension. in double life his decision to pair with cleo instead of pearl, his soulmate, was in itself really clever - as it was said many times, having two separate health bars and two teammates safe away gave them both a huge advantage in any pvp situation. when pearl got chased away by the boat boys for stealing their stuff, he just casually set his spawn, knowing he will respawn there a moment later - i think this clip perfectly summarizes scott's attitude during the games as a whole. and, of course, he ended up sacrificing himself at the end of this season - a common theme in scott's pov. he's sacrificing himself so often! in limited life he managed to accumulate a ton of time and be one of the last green names just by staying on the down low, claiming his boogeyman reward so early in the session he knew it won't come back to bite him later. he initiated very little fights, mostly being the one who got chased himself. he sacrificed himself again - a lot, limited life giving time back after every kill making it a valuable resource. and, finally (for now), in secret life the sacrifices make a comeback again, in the most massive way - ALL THREE of scott's deaths this season were a deal or sacrifice. he gave two of his lives to gem, one of his closest allies, in hopes she will carry his legacy and win. he didn't care for bravery or battle glory, the only thing which mattered being simple math - i have two and a half hearts, you have more - if someone else kills me and gets the ten, we will be in a much worse position. i can't stress enough how smart scott acts in the life series. he's always calm, is never a big enemy of anyone, and his every action has a purpose. that, and his skills with the bow, of course - it what makes him so scary. before secret life, people have even been talking about a scott curse/condition - every winner has been scott himself, one of scott's allies, or pearl who was his soulmate. this just shows how good and powerful of an ally he is, too.

I personally think Jimmy is up near the top because despite his canary curse always getting him out first - I once saw a post about how his canary curse isn't a curse, but just that he loves all his friends so much that they are functionally immortal until he dies - he's still so chipper and excited to go along with things and doesn't shy away from the action. I don't think he's like, the best player in terms of skill, but I love watching him. I do say I very much agree that Scott is number one because he is not only a fantastic player and plays into some fantastic story lines (flower husbands and divorce quartet are two of my favourite things to come out of the life series) but he also cares so much about his partners and his always honest with them, no betrayals, very few secret alliances - and even when he does the secret alliances he never does it with the intent to betray his partner, just allowing himself to set up a safety net if they die - and all in all I like watching him come up with stuff in these games to help and hinder others

Pearl absolutely didn't carry Scott to second in Double Life, she got them both killed that season for a bit of tomfoolery. She was going into danger the most and actively hurting herself to hurt Scott, which led to Scott and Cleo retaliating with the daily axe crit. What "carried" them was that them being separated made them significantly stronger than everybody else, plus Scott was playing the social game while pearl was playing the PVP game, which you need to play both to win.

scott is just a menace, in witchcraft he won, he hosts mcc, he made it far every life series, and is only on his second life in new life where jimmy is in his fourth at the time of this post. martyn however is still on his first tho. Empires is t a good way to judge as it is more focused on lore, but he got some brains saying sausage and lizzie didnt invade his fox base in the recent base invaders, while he got every single one (though lizzies had a bit of cheating)

I think Grian was a bit undervalued, he's easily top 5 in terms of pvp capabilities, he's the most reliable trapper in the series, he's able to make alliances with pretty much anyone at any point. He's got serious charisma, but more than anything I think he's probably the best at planning ahead in the game. His strategic capabilities are actually nuts, and although they cab be a bit zaney they've pulled through an astounding amount of times

Etho is really good, but i feel like people give him too much credit in some aspects. the man is good at pvp and is trustworthy, but his overreliance on magic tricks that only sometimes work kills him a lot. Like when he goes and gets wardens that kill no one instead of fighting with his allies or when he makes stasis chambers and risks running recklessly, only to get shot down before he can escape or the stasis chamber gets used against him like in limited life with scar. On the other hand, I'd put joel much higher because he is a good ally and a good fighter. Id probably put him somewhere midranged on the list. I'd say he goes out quickly because he never has more than two allies to back him up in combat, so he gets outnumbered

Joel probably should be a bit higher since he is argueably the best pvper of the cast, but I agree thay he definitely is too reckless for his own good. I would even say he probably could have won multiple times if he actually had some level of self preservation though thats probably me exaggerating.

I personally don’t like this tier list bc of how it’s ranked. You aren’t ranking them by how good of a player they are and more by the events of the series. We have to remember that some of the lack of self preservation is for the content. It makes it much more entertaining. But again, this is my opinion.

Tbf I think Joel should be at least in top 8-5. I know that Joel is very careless but the fact is he's actually good to be in his side. Joel got disappointment placement in 3rd and limited life but in last life and double life its literally his best season. About Cleo, I felt like she's better than Lizzie because she is the LEAST gullible person in the server and probably have a best pvp skills than lizzie she got pathetic placement in 3rd life and Limited life but in double life and last life she survived longer than you think.

I agree with Scott and Martin's placement but I feel like Scar should be up higher (yes he does die to silly stuff but he has killed a lot of people and also he has survived in the last in the top 5 every season (If I remember correctly)). Joel should also be ranked higher and Mumbo (As much as I love watching Mumbo play) panics at the end and dies quickly so he should be lower. Mumbo also didn't get too many kills. But it really doesn't matter to me because all of them coming together and playing and having fun is brilliant and I love watching all of them work and balance each other out!! But if we are ranking I would rank as follows: 1. Scott 2.Martin 3.Grain 4.Joel. (The only reason why I put Joel lower then Grain is because he tends to make rash and silly choices when he is on his last life) 5.Pearl 6.Scar the rest gets tricky so I couldn't decide where RenDog, Etho, Imulse and Cleo really goes because all are really good and survive very well in fact RenDog and impulse survived in the top 2 once. So these can be moved up. I am only putting Izzy here because she only played 2 seasons but she did really good (I would put her higher but for now she goes here.) 7.RenDog 8.Izzy 9.Imulse 10.Etho 11. Cleo These are maybe the ones who are usually first to go out buttt they are such great and entertaining players that last life wouldn't be the same without them! I end up cheering for them as well and their sportsmanship and humor makes them first in my book lol. 12. Bubs 13. Tango 14. BigB (he is a passive player and has the least kills) 15.Mumbo 16. Skiz 17. Jimmy (he is super funny and we can't blame the fact that his death is scripted to be first lol jk XD)
