not exactly possible if you just entered hardmode, but if you managed to get the Daedalus stormbow, you can make a small box above the ocean with 1 block gap to fish the boss, while having honey near you inside the box, heart lantern, campfire​ and if you don't think it's enough, you could use a pumkin pie, healing regeneration potion and iron skin, easy win.@@ashish2294

A good point for the abigail summon is since she tries to stay behind the character you can actually put ur back up to a wall and she will attack enemies on the other side of the wall (for ppl who may not wanna re-cast their summons outside of a wall over and over)

Very solid video and agreeable tier list. If there was one thing about the video I could criticize, it's the spelling and grammar. Not a huge deal, but it's noticeable when reading every line that you wrote. It would be worth it on your end to go back and re-read every line and make sure that things are spelled right and the grammar is acceptable. Deserves a like either way!

Another thing that makes the sanguine good is that it has good base damage allowing it to pair with the forbidden armor better as you use a mage weapon instead of a whip with that set, meaning you lose tag damage. For the sanguine that’s a much lower percent of your overall damage than it is with the blade staff. Combine that with the perfect tracking and it’s a great way to have a super consistent amount of DPS in addition to a magic weapon.

There probably is higher damaging and defense builds using mele/magic/ranger then summoner builds for boss fights. But summoner has got to be the easiest to trivialize the other 90% of the game when it's just normal mobs while you adventure. Great tier list n video!

Finch is better than you think. Prehardmode summons share frames with the same type of summon, unlike hardmode where it is all individual (except for 3+ spiders) This means 2 finches and 2 flinx has better dps than 4 flinx because the 4 flinx interrupt each other's attacks So if you can get a frog, slime, finch, and flinx then summon 1 of each you are very powerful prehardmode. Edit: C isn't bad for pirate staff but it should be mentioned it is probably summoner's best option for destroyer pre-plantera (unless you get terraprisma) and even does well against golem compared to other available summons if you happen to get it. (Again, except for difficult to obtain summons like tiger and terraprisma)

The vampire frog staff can be your first summon weapon if you’re lucky enough to find lava early. What I like to do is set up a pool at spawn with two chambers, top left and top right. Put platforms down above the water and have the wooden platform HOIK wall into a small room with lava. Enemies fished up will eventually find their way into the lava rooms and boom! Vampire frogs!

Pygmy staff is my personal fav. With the right equitables you can get them up to like 70 dmg. I defeated moonlord on master mode with the Pygmy staff. S tier fs

Im so glad to see the flinx staff get some recognition. Although it doesn’t do super high damage, it attacks really quickly and sticks to the enemies very well, allowing it to do good consistent damage to all kinds of enemies. Some of the early game projectile minions may miss a lot of their damage, and I think the flinx are better than them against enemies that move a lot.

I see we just casually overlooking the fact that abigails flower is S tier for farming early game because she passes through walls. When you build a 2 wide hole and stand on one side facing away from the hole she will attack every thing that falls in. You can afk.

Whips aren’t meant to be a weapon, they’re support weapons for your minions. That’s why you find very little armour sets buffing whips specifically. Also the stardust whip/fishron whip are gonna be sick

7:59 personally, i think raven staff is far too difficult to use on anything mobile due to how short of a range they're willing to attack in. if they had a constantly active hitbox, maybe they'd be useful for kiting faster bosses, but until then it's actually considerably easier to fight eol with deadly spheres.

I think devs completely killed the Sanguine Staff. It is extremly slow compared to what it used to be. It was one of my favourite summoner weapons.

Im a summoner main and to be honest I’ve always preferred the stardust cells over the stardust dragon because I feel like the dragon AI is prone to attacking very far off targets leaving me alone to die to other enemies, however the cells stay close and attack approaching enemies making them better bodyguards lol. The dragon is really good against slow moving tanks like moon lord. When I was fighting empress of light in daytime, the dragon had a hard time dealing reliable damage to her and would get distracted easily but the stardust cells we able to kill it a lot faster. They’re two separate weapons though with totally different uses. Still a great list

I remember in my first play through, I was fishing in a Mushroom biome. I kept getting ambushed by enemies, and Stardust Dragon did so little I opted for Xeno Staff. Note to self: make both summon weapons.

I'd swap Pirate and Pygmy, and honestly I'd swap Imp and Hornet too. Hornet is more reliable as a minion than Imp due to its faster attack speed and just because they move around more so they can spot enemy around walls more easily. The fact that Imp cannot attack in water in any capacity is a huge downside and I'm surprised you didn't mention it.

my reccomended progression for summons pre boss: flinx staff pre hm: imp staff with vampire frog or hornet staff pre mech: sanguin or blade staff pre plantera: raven combinated with desert tiger if got the key pre golem: xeno staff or terraprisma if ur good enough to get it pre moonloord: stardust dragon or terraprisma

The sanguine staff can also carry you from pre mech all the way till the pillars with ease. It's really good.

Xeno is post Golem. I'd also suggest Optic instead of Sanguine for Plantera. It no longer suffers from constant issue, and so the damage output is higher than Sanguine. Sanguine by the way got nerfed through a bug fix that cripples it's damage in medium-close range, plus there're now actual competitions post Plantera like Raven, Deadly Sphere, etc

Idk I love the charm of how borderline useless the early game weapons are in terraria that I installed the mod that lets you level them up and do challenge runs where I use almost exclusively that weapon(s) to see how broken I can make them.
