The actor who played Jeremy once said in an interview that he hoped his character would get paired up with Brooke. Seems like the writers were sort of testing out the possibility.

Adam had Staurt pose as him when he "divorced" Erica years before. And years later he posed as Staurt when Adam faked his kidnapping to get back at Gloria & Alec.

Yes the secret came out months later. What Stuart told Adam is to remind him that he pretended to be Adam for him during a divorce hearing with Erica Kane. Erica wanted out of the marriage around 1986, so Stuart posed as Adam to make their divorce invalid to keep them married. Even though after the divorce Adam married Brooke and Erica married Mike Roy twice and Travis Montgomery twice the marriages was invalid and Adam realizing he may not reconcile with Brooke he later fell in love with Erica again to blackmail her to marry him the second time by telling her the secret and not only Bianca would be in a scandal, but make it hard for her to be with Bianca if the world knows that all Erica's marriages was invalid and Bianca was born illegitimately.
