Just this past weekend I test drove one of these. I'll hand it to them, it is a seriously quick bike and corners nicely. However I did not like how cramped I felt on it. I felt like I was just too tall for it and at 5'11" I am not extremely tall. After returning with it though I did have a seat on a 2022 Indian Chief bobber Dark Horse. What a fantastic bike, and just the right size and sit position. Unfortunately I could not test drive it as it wasn't road ready yet. They won't have a demo model in until March 2023. Gonna have to see if I can find one sooner.

Hands down best looking bobber out there! The microns look great but their size worries me. Are they bright enough to be effective in day time? sucks route 66 isn't doing the bolt kits anymore though. Thankfully i ordered both the engine and body kits before they closed up shop.
@Jimbobbington2 жыл бұрын
Thank you Jeff! To be honest, most of my modifications came with a compromise of some sort. The Microns are definitely bright, but 100% the stock lights were more "visible".
@nsparacino2 жыл бұрын
Totally different styles of bikes obviously, but I have the microns on my 1290 superduke and 690 smcr, I've found them to be surprisingly bright and visible even in broad daylight. Obviously there are more visible indicators, but I'm super happy with them, they blend right in and look invisible when "off" and when "on" are pretty darn bright.

Great videos. Total newbie to motorcycling. I wasted no time finding a used Scout Bobber Twenty and it had the basic add-ons I wanted. It’s great fun learning about these motorcycles, and I appreciate your work here. Thank you for the info on the tires. My stock Pirellis are worn down on the back (bike had 6500 miles). Do you think it’s the first or second tire? Not sure the tread life of the stock Pirellis. Also, I haven’t heard anyone discuss the front suspension. It would be interesting to learn more. I’ll keep asking around. As for the bolt kit, since you made this video have you found anyone else who makes custom painted bolt kits? Or would you have to have a shop do it for you custom? Thank you!

I'd guess that tire is the original, my rear lasted 5k ish I believe. I haven't seen a good bolt kit since unfortunately 😢

Hey Jim. Your videos are entertaining. I got a question for you. I have a ‘23 rouge and just ordered the Free Spirit forward control plates and the brake line extension (mine’s a non-abs). I didn’t see anything from you on that install… did you run into any issues? It looks pretty straightforward. Thanks
@Jimbobbington24 күн бұрын
Mine is an ABS so it required no brake extension, the install was very easy. Unfortunately if you need to install the extended brake line, I've heard it's a nightmare to get the brakes bled properly in this bike.

Looks like their website changed but they still sell the turn signals. www.combustionindustries.com/product-page/micron-turn-signals-scout As for the block off plate, believe me, I looked everywhere for something cheaper that was good quality, but there's not anything available that matches the fit and finish of tank machine that I could find.

I see you don't have the radiator hose gaurd. Kuryakyn also makes that. It's a must have. Also, why doesn't anyone make rear aftermarket ABS brakes for the Scout Bobber? It's annoying that brembo makes front with abs.... but not rear abs brakes.... anyways... suggestions?

Yeah, I agree. I haven't really seen any rear ABS kits either.

I'm 6 1", 250 pounds and love the Scout Bobber. However I also have a dodgy back, I took one for a ride last week and my back is only just recovering. I'm thinking of biting the bullet and ordering one anyway with extended foot controls, better suspension and a syndicate seat in the hope that this combination of mods will remove or significantly reduce the back pain. I think I'm being too optimistic, what do you think?
@Cathalsboolventures Жыл бұрын
I have a scout rogue that came with the syndicate seat, the seat itself does not help with the ride in my opinion. it is better than the seats on the bobber but I think the biggest help would be a different rear suspension. The stock shocks/springs combo is way too stiff

I saw in the comments for another video that the Vans grips were your favorite for comfort so just wondering why you haven't gone back to them?
@Jimbobbington Жыл бұрын
The only issue I had with them is that they are so soft/rubbery that they actually wear down a bit over time. They were comfy, but nothing on my bike was really done with comfort in mind lol. I like the look of my motogadget grips better overall.

Hey Jim Swapping tires to the commander 3's Just as a FYI you have a "cruiser" on the front on a "touring" on the rear Any issues with mixing them?
@Jimbobbington Жыл бұрын
Yeah I noticed that after they installed them lol. I've had no issues at all. I researched the difference and it seems the touring provides more milage while the cruise has better breaking ability. Seeing how the front is 80% off the stopping power and the rear wears way faster, seems like a good match honestly.
@DucksDoQuack Жыл бұрын
@Jimbobbington I went with the same set up. My selling point was the biggest " cruiser" they make is a 150 and I was hell bent on getting the 180 I watched a few videos that mentioned the cruiser had more traction in went conditions due to the extra grooves it has Bikes at the shop now getting tires brakes and oil changed

I don't understand the bike community. I'm just getting into the biking world and after seeing quite a few modification showcases for bikes I'm interested in I'm noticing most people basically only bedazzle their bikes with trinkets and I'm so disappointed. Where's the original spirit of guys tinkering and tuning their bikes to go faster and handle better. The most I see is an exhaust swap with an occasional air filter change. Where's all the camshafts, efi tuning, custom built exhausts, intake mods, and everyone who liked to "slap a turbo on that bitch" or even people adding custom mounts for utility stuff. Has the biker communities spirit mostly died recently or something?
@Jimbobbington24 күн бұрын
