I have both of these books, & I have coloured only one page; the title page of Zemlja Snova. I just love Tomislav's illustrations, & if I hear he has contributed to a colouring book I have to have it. One day, I will be brave enough to tackle some of these beautiful images, & I just adore what you have done in these books Alena.

Thank you! Indeed they require crazy amount of time to finish...sometimes I wish I had Dutch edition where I could use watercolors... To do background with pencils isn't my favorite part of coloring, but in Tomic books I'm ready to do anything for the good final result

But I can totally understand, that you don't want to risk to mess up the other side of the page in this book! But the time you invest here is totally worth it for the end result! I love your pictures. Those coloring books are amazing. I was following along with you on the musical fairies spread in Vilin San but my puppy got hold of the book and tore the bottom of the page off. I was so mad! I still think I’m going to finish it since the other page had only a few tooth marks. Now I believe the old excuse kids used when they said the dog ate their homework. My dog almost ate my book!

I'm sorry to hear that your work was ruined but maybe your little one wanted to remind that sometime we seat at the table too long and that from time to time we need to go for a walk, play with puppy and do something more healthy ... well, not very good consolation but it's impossible to stay mad at puppy's pranks for a long time, so I hope that you forgave him quickly.

You are correct. She’s a large breed puppy and doesn’t get enough attention. I did forgive her. I can’t stay mad at any of my doggies. I also decided that the coloring book is salvageable. I learned from this experience not to leave any of my coloring books on the bed.

What media are you using on your backgrounds acrylic, pastels... or do you just do them with your pencil?

Well, I use many different mediums.. in this video I've shown pictures with pencil background (like unicorn or pictures from J.Becket-Griffith book), watercolor background (enchantress portrait or bugs), acrylic background (pictures from 'Sagor och sagner' book and 'Beauty Horror' ) and soft pastel background (in Maria Trolle)

First off, I love your work and have learned so much from you. I am so glad you are safe and well considering what your brave and beautiful country is suffering right now. I am writing to ask if you have ever used the Tombow brush tip marker pens on your Tomislav Tomic books or perhaps Kerby Rosanes books? I wish to try my Tombows on my coloring books by these two artists but wherever there is another illustration on the back, I fear the possibility of ruining it with bleed or ghosting. I have the Dutch editions of both the Tomic books and the paper is very nice and somewhat thick but I just don't want to ruin another page as I mentioned. If you have tried the Tombows in any of these higher quality coloring books perhaps you can advise me? Thank you for your time and Slava Ukraine!!!
