Both are sweet cars in their own way, but I will have to give the nod to the 4 series because it's more stable over bad roads and it's faster. Can't forget the 8 speed tranny too! This is coming from a previous owner of a 228i Msport and current owner of 17 C300 coupe.

***** Its down to multiple reasons. The new V8 AMG engines are much more efficient, its easy to drive, good turning circle, practical car for everyday use (plenty of space in the interior and boot), comfortable on long journeys, etc... My father drives a CLS63 on a daily basis and has no problems with it. AMGs are much easier to drive than people think.

+SeniorLeb yeah I completely agree. The c300 coupe is a more luxurious car with a nicer and classier interior and the A45 is so much fun to drive and has a lot of power. I am 20 and I'm thinking the A45 would be good for my age and that the c300 is kinda making me grow up faster and as I live in london there is not much space and a lot of rules against speed but I just dont know what to get. If it was your money and you are in my position out of interest what would you get?

A45 is much better car for u bro! C300 is not very sports sorry! Either the c63 or I wont get any C class because they don't look or feel or drive like sports car. AS u can see I own the A45 AMG so my advice is go of what u feel is best for u! A45 is the better choice

I wish we had a better idea when the new 9 shift auto will be updated into the c coupe. I hear they will come as standard for the cabriolet (which will be out near the end of the year in my country). I test drove one and had the same issue with you in terms of power and transmission. Power, I can compromise for the design but the transmission I just can't understand. Some advise me that Mercedes 7 speed learns to shift better as the owner drives the vehicle but im a bit skeptical about this. Brilliant review by the way good to see more opinions on car reviews

Hi John,,, the 9 shit should never be implemented in a sports car as the example look the best sports car or even supper car do not have more than 6 gears (manual) so once back when I heard that 7 gears where our I was scared than I realized that the 7 gear itself is nothing more than C mode to save gas and put less stress on the engine itself but again we go back to the main ideas. this is a sports car why do we need 7 gears? and now 9 sorry but doesn't make any sense and if Mercedes ever put it back to its big cars It will be a major turning off point for me and many other merc lovers. Hey thanks for the insight, I guess you're right, I've been just too fixated on the thought that the 9 shift is an updated gear box to the rather lousy 7 shift one they have right now. I guess people really do have preferences on car makes because I'm just not that impressed by entry level Mercedes vehicles. I've changed my mind from buying a new C coupe and I'm looking to buy a used A5 Cabrio instead. Thanks, subscribed & looking forward to more!
