Parker if you've driven- a recent 4 coupe love to hear your thoughts. Working to do a C, A4, 3/4 comparison but having to work with the local BMW dealer (and in all fairness the 4 isn't as fresh as the other 2 in terms of total redesign).

Great interior. Much better than the played-out, 20 year old BMW style, but the Bimmer has the exterior and the driving over the Merc. Plus the engines are night and day for the Bimmer too.

When I test drove this car, I felt transmission was still a problem. Also its sad that they no longer have harman kardon sound system. Burmester audio system is no match to it. My 2013 C250's Harman Kardon is still better than this. However, overall this is beautiful car to drive.

It's a four-cylinder, not a 6-cylinder. The 6-cylinder version (C43 AMG Coupe) will have like 360hp or so.

Nope! It becomes second nature after a week or two of owning the car. I really like it on my '10 ML350 as it frees up center console for more usable storage.

+LegendInThaMakin since its electronic it won't do anything while your driving probably. (It might go into neutral but certainly not reverse. ) it's not hard to get used to. Our family's Escalade has a column shifter and it's pretty easy to get used to.

What is torque?

Torque is the constant power a motor delivers in also lower rpm, as the HP is the max power wich a engine could produce at a certain rpm. Less torque but much HP means, if you push the throttle at ca. 2.000 rpm not much happens until you reach higher rpm or shift a gear back. A car with much torque has also power at low rpm and you don´t have to downshift for performance.

HP is direct result of torque. HP=NM*RPM/7023.5 So torque is in link with 1 RPM. Better case to understand is that more torque is able to push the heavy car on big uphill with constant speed in some higher gear for example. Extremely important for trucks,buses....Diesel have more torque about 30% than petrol,but petrol have about same percentage higher rpm. Acceleration is direct function of power(HP)
