I still have our 2005 Nissan Pathfinder and I will always say I’ve been very happy with it. It is so old that when we bought it new, my son was less than one year old, now he’s driving it. Did it have transmission issues? Yes, but it has had virtually no other issues. It still looks great after all these years. Now my 2020 Lincoln Aviator - I bought it for the 0-60 and that it is also a family vehicle. I may not be the average SUV owner though. 😄

I also have an '06 Pathfinder. Had it since new. No real issues whatsoever with it. I've had the radiator replaced early on after about 5 years or so of owning it when I learned about the infamous radiator "mixture" issue. I've got 138K miles on the truck now, and no transmission issues so far... knock on wood [knocking on my head] although it still drives smoothly. If you get that cold startup sound that sounds like an airbus that's about to take off, it's the fan clutch that needs replacement. Don't get an aftermarket one... Get the OEM one to assure that sound doesn't come back so quickly. I like the fact that the generation PF that we have is a great all-around SUV with good power [270hp, naturally-aspirated V6 engine] that's decent on gas for what it is, and it comfortably seats 7 passengers. Can't go wrong with that compared to the competition during the time...and perhaps even now.

I bought a new 2022 Nissan Pathfinder SL about 2 months ago, I absolutely love it, I've had 3 previous pathfinders and this is hands down the best, I agree with everything you said in your review. Also if you are looking for a faster merge onto a highway put in the sport mode, makes it much quicker, would I buy it alll over again YES!!!

Excellent explanation and review about the 2022 Pathfinder. I bought the Platinum and added the available options I wanted. It is a terrific and comfortable ride. I am in my 70s, and wanted a large type of vehicle I can use to travel on the road. I like the quiet and secure ride. I found for a vehicle this size it handles very well and is very comfortable. I had a Murano Platinum before. The Pathfinder seems to drive like a slightly larger Murano. The Pathfinder is giving me about the same fuel usage as the Murano was giving me. I normally drive the Pathfinder in the ECO mode because I found it to be less aggressive for driving. I did not buy this SUV for high performance. I wanted a secure and comfortable ride. I found it does have better than adequate performance if I have to pass someone or enter on to a highway. Very satisfied with it. My phone does not have the wireless charging option. I like my phone mounted using a cup holder phone mount. I have it set up to give me easy quick access to it. Most of the time I use the dialing from the vehicle's touch screen. I leave the phone working on WAZE. I have WAZE set up to give me warnings such as road hazards, and speed traps, and etc. I am not the type of drive that speeds, but it is good to know about speed traps and radar cameras. What I found missing in the Pathfinder it does not have an over speed limit warning chime sound. Other vehicles I have driven has this feature. WAZE on my phone is set to warn me if I am more than 6 mph over the limit. My wife has a 2016 Juke Nismo RS. Very quick and comfortable small SUV. Handles well. This Juke has an over speed limit warning alarm.

Excellent review. Our 2014 pathfinder has been a tank over the last seven years. It’ll make a great first car for our son. Personally I’d like a Tahoe for our next family car but prices are to high. We’ll probably go back to a pathfinder. Your review was exactly what we were looking for, thanks.

I really appreciate your take on the driving dynamics. That really comes in handy when your looking to buy a Pathfinder. We currently have a 2020 Nissan Murano and are looking at a 2022 Pathfinder SL. Hopefully the seats in the pathfinder will be somewhat similar to the Murano (The Murano has great seats) I just hope they are as comfortable. Thanks again for your insight. Ron & Marianne

I’ve watched many static reviews of this vehicle and I like what I see. You’re review is the first I’ve seen for driving impressions. Being a Nissan fan and owning 3 new Nissans in a row with excellent durability and driving dynamics I am seriously considering the Pathfinder for purchase. I would like to tow a small travel trailer and would appreciate a review or comment on how well the Pathfinder would be a tow vehicle over various scenarios like thru the mountains out west. With a tow rating of 6K and an equalizer hitch how heavy a trailer could safely be towed ? I could care less about wireless charging…. My phone is not equipped for that anyway! Always enjoy your reviews.

Helllo Walt,, this is exactly what I'm also looking for right now: test drives of how the Nissan Pathfinder SV 2022 does when towing 3 000 pounds + 7 foot wide + 8 foot high from the ground up. I too enjoyed this video very much. A follow up on towing with 2022 Pathfinder by Big Truck Big RV would get all my attention. Thanks all.

It's awesome! Way to go nissan! Cvt is gone in pathfinder. Hey overpriced Telluride, can we get a 12.3 inch digital instrument cluster? No?!?! Why not? Because you don't offer it at any Telluride trim level. Do you offer full active map in instrument cluster? Pathfinder yes. Telluride no. How about graphic sirius xm channel artwork and album art? Telluride no. Pathfinder yes. Maybe i want to see what channel I'm on and what song is playing in my cluster or the head up display. NissN.. Yes! Telliride... Whap whap whap..big fat no. Large under floor storage area with drain hole? Telluride no. Pathfinder yes. Maybe you need to pull a 6k lb trailer? Pathfinder yes. Telluride no. Removable middle row console? Pathfinder yes. Telluride no. Will you be able to purchase a pathfinder for msrp or maybe a little less? Pathfinder yes. Telluride you'll need another $5,000 maybe more to buy a USED one. Nissan wins hands down!

On wireless charging: I have no use for it, but the reason for inconvenient may very well be inspired by lawyers (and or safety) if they put it in an easy to access place there would be people blaming that for distracted driving. And I believe it does make it safer.

I think that this update to the Pathfinder is a great step. I have the 2019 Pathfinder and my ONLY complaint about it is the CVT (especially when towing our 2019 Keystone Passport 239ML), so the fact that they ditched that is very exciting. Per question for wireless charging, I think that wireless charging is good for the office / nightstand, but in a car, I think plugging in is just fine. Unfortunately, the trend with phones seems to be getting rid of charge ports and going to wireless only charging, which makes this comment irrelevant. Thanks for the video!

I own the 2022 SV AWD and I have to say that I am not impressed with it. The mpg is about 14 in the city for me. The passenger seat is so low that it's very uncomfortable. The sun visor is useless when the seat is so low. The back up camera is the worst quality of any vehicle I've ever owned. I have heard others in the trim have the same issue, but the higher trims have the better quality camera. The remote start does not work unless you are almost touching the car, and the app to start the car rarely works, if ever. The transmission shifts very rough in low gears. If you are using the steering assist the car does not follow the lanes very well and will fight you to take you off at exits, or just places it thinks are a road.. dirt paths are not excluded.. little dangerous. I do love the size, the space is amazing. I like how there are less plastic than the fords. It does feel solid and the road noise is a minimum. Overall I would not purchase it again and if you are considering it, do some research on others in the same class.

I agree that this model will not change the game, although I think it is in between standing one step of each competitors , less luxurious than the Korean but more than the most of Japanese and American, reliability more than korean and American and less than Toyota , practically is Japanese or little less , pricing also average but at least less than Toyota, all that I think it gives it advantage to people are confused to choose between this wide competition

wireless charging IMHO is too gimmicky. give me a couple of extra usb sockets and I'm happy all day long. USB sockets can be used for a multitude of 'accessories', phone charge pad is only for charging phones.... as a whole the pathfinder seems ok, not my favourite marque this side of the pond, but not too shabby. peace.

What, the all new 9 spd auto that it now has????
@jerryfacts97493 жыл бұрын
The new Pathfinder uses a 9 speed automatic transmission with a manual shift option. This transmission is also used in some models of pickup trucks. It is a very tough transmission. It is not a CVT.
