All new 2022 UK SsangYong Musso - Is this the best pickup in the UK?

I have owned both a Ranger and a Navara, however, now its a Saracen which in my opinion is miles ahead of what I have enjoyed owning in the past. When you look at motoring reviews these guys drive a vehicle for a few hours and on the odd occasion maybe a couple of days and what do they really know about the vehicle in the real world of everyday use so in fairness my judgement is based on years of ownership. The Ford was a very good vehicle which I really liked the look of and the drive was reasonable after two years of ownership I traded it in for the Navara and if I was to choose between these two I much prefered the Navara due to it having a far smoother drive especially on motorways and around town off road it was very capable as was the Ford and after almost three years I traded it in for the Saracen and instantly felt at home in it. This new model certainly turns heads and starts conversations I have never had with the previous two, people regulary comment on how good it looks especially with such a stunning cabin so well done Ssangyong and good for you for listening to reviews and acting upon them quickly this will hopefully pay off and I will certainly continue to fly the flag.

How is the drive/ride quality compared to the navara?

@@edjones6160 I find the ride quality slightly better but, to be fair the Navara wasn't that bad although when you consider that you now not only have heated seats but cooling seats along with a heated steering wheel it all adds to the quality feel.

Personally I think the ride is slightly harsher than the current model Ranger, but about the same as the Navara. But the gap is very close between the three. It's worth mentioning that a lot of the online reviews you'll read about the Musso will lazily just repeat the editorial from when the Q200 Musso was first launched in 2018 (when it was pretty harsh on ride quality). But in actual fact, SsangYong have made a lot of changes to the suspension/tires and ride quality in general in the last 4 years, it's a very different proposition now that it has progressive springs, 18" wheels and Pirelli Scorpion tires.

What is it like on fuel, say compared to the L200 (NEW MODEL), Ford ranger for examples?

They're all very similar sadly, but I routinely get around 36mpg on mixed journeys and up to just shy of 40 mpg with a manual. The L200 (was) virtually the same and the Ford about 1-2 mpg better.
