Do you have to activate it every time you use it for the first time that day? When I have it in the auto mode it won't go into high beam until I manually do and then it works automatically after that.

Yes, you would have to put it into the auto mode whenever you restart the car for that drive or even adjust the headlight position yourself. It won't let you just leave it on forever! Thanks for watching! - Andrew

You have automatic headlights, and they use Headlight Delay to keep the headlights on for about 15 seconds after you leave the car to kind of help light your way before they go out! Thanks for watching! - Andrew
