I'm new to Adobe Captivate so I've been binge-watching all of your videos on Captivate 12. Outstanding job, by the way - all are very clear, perfectly paced, and to the point. After a few years creating Powerpoint videos, Captivate seems very constraining (trying to change into a dress suit in an airplane lavatory comes to mind). I understand Captivate and Powerpoint are two very different beasts and require a different mindset, but the former seems to lack very basic features, such as creating pop-up text when the mouse hovers over a single word in a text block. Am I missing something here? If so, maybe you might want to think about making a video on how to create popups. Thanks!

Because Adobe Captivate is responsive design (and meant for touch), you find items that require the use of a mouse not to function, namely rollovers. That said, I found it difficult after years of using PowerPoint when I first started using Adobe Captivate in version 2. It's an entirely different application with a distinct purpose and workflow. After nearly 20 years of Captivate, I can't imagine anything else as my primary design and development tool. I think you'll master it with more experience. Keep watching my videos and consider taking a course like the *Adobe Professional Certification: Adobe Captivate*, which you'll find here: www.adobe.com/products/captivate/certificate.html.

@@CaptivateTeacher Ah, yes - "meant for touch". That helps, many thanks for taking the time to reply. I need to go back and rewatch all of your videos after having played with the app for a couple of days to understand what I missed. Keep up the good work!

Can you show if there is a way to prevent learners from skipping forward slides by the bottom bar?
@CaptivateTeacher Жыл бұрын
When I have a situation where I need to control when a learner moves forward, I usually turn off the built-in playbar and add my own buttons. I typically hide that "next button" until the learner has completed some task, whether it's an interaction or merely watching a video, etc.

Thank you, Paul! There isn't a way to have an audio file play when the overlay is revealed, is there?
@CaptivateTeacher Жыл бұрын
To add seperate audio you would need to build a custom interaction using triggers and actions.

I am also very interested on how to do this. Thank you! @@CaptivateTeacher

I think there will be an update for this, possibly in October in time for the Adobe Learning Summit in Las Vegas.

Its there a way to make the text boxes bigger on the overlay? I want to be able to fit more than 5 sentences without scrolling
@CaptivateTeacher Жыл бұрын
Try one of the other design options. You might find something you like. That said, one advantage of this version is that scrolling is always available if you need it.

Is there a way to have a button appear after a video has been watched? I've been trying multiple different ways and have watched many of your videos but I'm still stuck! We previously had buttons simply appear after X time in Captivate Classic but this function seems to be missing now

This solution is from a video I have coming out in a few weeks. kzbin.info/www/bejne/moHRgq1rgNSUq5Y

Is it possible to click to reveal video?
@CaptivateTeacher Жыл бұрын
Can you tell me more about what you are trying to achieve?
@yerlanymendez Жыл бұрын
@@CaptivateTeacher I would like to show an image of certain adaptations then have the students click on them to reveal a video of how the animals use those adaptations. For example short beaks, long beaks, curved beaks. Click on each beak image and then reveal a video of the birds feeding behavior with a short narrative explanation.

Hi Paul, Thank you for uploading these videos. Could you please upload a video on adding a logo in all new Adobe Captivate?
