We are very excited to bring you a clash between these two German sledgehammers. These cars are a product of the manic German power wars which have resulted in family station wagons having more power than Lamborghini supercars.
And so the test car stars aligned, we hired an airstrip outside Cape Town and we staged a few epic 400m races between the brand new Audi RS6 Avant and the facelifted Mercedes-AMG E63 S.
The Mercedes has the upper hand on power and torque but Audis have a reputation for being great off the line. So sit back, relax, and enjoy this super-saloon (and wagon) shoot-out.

Do it against the base merc E63 with 577bhp... The Benz is running a much higher state of tune standard, hence when you tune an RS6 the 100-200 goes from circa 8 to 6 or unders, while the Benz goes from 7.7 to low 7s... kzbin.info/www/bejne/p6GulZWPaa-blc0

This man is right. It's to remove the launch out of the equation. For example when you have an AWD vehicle vs RWD vehicle. The AWD vehicle has a big advantage from a dig.

Race Mode in the AMG, please don’t use shift paddle... your car will shift itself at the right moment, taking driver errors off the equation. Just foot flat on the floor in race mode and watch AMG devour that Audi even more. I wish car reviewers would know more about this race mode... I use it all the time on my CLA45

Son as I said before you can’t compare the M5 to this E63S AMG. You must compare it to the GT63S and than we will see who is the king. Compare Like for like Apples with Apples. Go check out carwow on youtube and watch how the M5 gets smoked.

Remember between merc and beemer which ever gets quick on stand off wins, there are some videos where merc was quick and it won, The quickest of the line wins, the margin will be the same, it wont increase the lead further but on rolling race merc always wins....on Gt63 one video i know the merc driver had the slowest reaction on every race,that idiot couldnt launch that big merc I dont know which other videos you refering too. If that merc had a better driver the M5 was going to be no competition to it, the only competition for Gt63 is M8 not M5

Had an M5 comp, sold it and bought an RS6... If winning a drag race by 0.1 seconds makes you "the daddy", when your interior is circa Hyundai, your exterior is circa sub par, your build quality is even more so, and when it comes time to sell the thing you get utterly smashed... no thanks - will keep my E60 M5, E92 M5 to remind me of what M division was in its hay day... but its Porsche and Audi for me going forward... even the RS Etron makes that new I4 look like a pile of dog shit...and dont even get me started on the new M3/4

@@pseudonym6642 you obviously didn’t see the perfomance of the new M3/m4 and the interior/built quality, and don’t forget Bmw was the first to introduce an electric/ hybrid production car well ahead of Audi and Porsche with the i3 and i8, Bmw is going to introduce 7 more electric cars they’re just getting started son, their sales figures are much higher than Porsche and Audi as well, introducing the first hydrogen powered production car in a few years as well in the form of a BMW X5 chassis

I also own an X5 M50d which has a great interior...sadly the M5 is still running the crap old dash design.... The I3 is fully eletric, the I8 is a piece of shit ... I think you forget that porsche has had a hybrid Panamera and Cayenne for quite some time and Audi built the first plug in hybrid in the late 80s lol www.topgear.com/car-news/electric/audi-built-plug-hybrid-1989 .... As for sales figures, you do realised VAG group revenue is circa 3 times that of BMW right? And that there is now an Etron GT S line and a GT RS - the latter is quicker than an M5, as well as an Etron 4x4, Etron A3 etc

Good race! Surprised how well the Audi did given that its a wagon with way less power and torque. It should be mentioned that there is a basic mis match here as there are with all theses match ups. The E63s should be matched against the RS6 performance when it makes it to the showrooms soon. Same with 5 series Would you agree the RS6 would crush the M5 but lose to the M5 competition but the RS6 performance would be a different animal against both the M5 comp and the E63s.
