I’ve been shopping for an e-bike for bow hunting. I’m all private ground so no boundaries regarding class / power. This little rig looks very intriguing! I wonder if there’s an option for a rack / bow / gun mount on the front or rear.

Hey! That’s exactly what I used it for all hunting season. It is whisper quiet and pulled my big butt up and down the hills. I just put my rifle on my shoulder and then my pack and it worked perfect. Just laid it down at the stand. If you go to my instagram you will see pics and some videos. Also, it’s way lower to the ground so I feel like you are more hidden by tall grass. Anyway, I 100% think it was awesome for hunting. Just not sure about a rack. Oh; and I blacked out the light.

@@JoeTheFarmer awesome! Just the past couple months I’ve been using a Rambo ebike that I borrowed from a friend with a bum ankle. I like it ok but the gears click like crazy and idk maybe I’m just sensitive to it but it seems loud. Also I’m short (5’8”) and the seat at the lowest setting is still high centered for me. A few days ago I wiped out while braking going down a slick wet hillside. Fortunately I was going slow but the high center made the crash inevitable.

As for a rack I bet Kolpin or someone like that makes a mount that would work. That’s one thing some of the hunting e-bikes have over this mini bike and that’s the racks that go on the back.

I agree. With a 5’8” frame I am sure you can make it work. But it should get you where you need to go. And very very quiet.

I wanted to test the limits of this thing's capability so I just got back from making a trip down into the river valley on probably one of the most challenging gas well roads in the area. The grade on the steepest section, which is about 300 yards long, is probably around 33° (300 ft drop in elevation over ~ 900 ft distance) which means that every heavy downpour washes all the loose dirt off so you're left with a lot of loose, softball sized rocks. Not a problem at all for a 4x4 ATV but not much fun on this rear wheel drive E-bike. Going down was not much of an issue... just ride the brakes all the way down and try to stay out of the loose stuff. Coming back up was another story especially when I had to stop half way up because a horse fly somehow managed to get inside my goggles. LOL The biggest issue I see with slow speed off-road riding is that the rear springs are just way too stiff. The bike starts jumping around on the rocks and then it becomes really difficult to keep the throttle at a steady speed because of all the bouncing. I made it but I wouldn't really call that a fun ride and the next time I want to make that trip it will definitely be on my trusty old '99 Yamaha Wolverine.
@breddi1
@breddi1 6 күн бұрын
I agree 100%. Steep hills (going up) isn’t fun. It just doesn’t have good low speed torque. To get the power to go you gotta give throttle which can get bouncy and squirmy in a hurry. On the really steep hill I tried I actually put my feet down and assisted the slow climb.
@blksn8k
@blksn8k 6 күн бұрын
@@breddi1 Yep. Feet down on those slow uphill climbs. I've been using it almost everyday since the start of hunting season here in PA. It does everything I expected from it and now that I have been riding it more even the slow speed stuff has become pretty easy. As a matter of fact, I just came in about an hour ago after sitting in a ladder stand until dark and then rode the bike up a much smoother gas well road to the house. No regrets whatsoever!

I built an electric fatbike, centrally mounted hubmotor geared 6 to 1 thru a jackshaft to 26”x4” fat tire rear wheel. torque thru the roof, but jogging speed at max. I can pull logs, go up insane hills without the motor even slowing down. harley seat to keep my arse happy, and low sitting stance to easily flatfoot rugged terrain. great on the farm. use it to pull a mowing deck for lawn care in the summer. custom built aluminum frame, carbon front fork, and a simple 48 volt 10 amp/hr ebike battery. weighs under 55 lbs. My bike is scheduled to be delivered today. Or at least that's what the trucking company told me by phone yesterday. Strange thing is that when I checked the status of my order a few minutes ago on Greenwork's own website all it says is that I placed an order. No tracking info or anything that even hints that it has already been shipped or that it is actually out for delivery. I even signed up for text updates regarding the shipping status but have not received anything. I sure hope their customer service is better than this.
@blksn8k
@blksn8k 4 ай бұрын
Well, the delivery didn't happen yesterday and the trucking company (Ward Trucking of Altoona, PA) never called to explain why and did not respond to my voice message yesterday asking what was going on. Their dispatcher did answer my call just now and told me they would have to reschedule the delivery for next Tuesday which is five days later than they originally planned. I also had to hang around the house all day yesterday waiting for at least a phone call. Nothing. And there is still no tracking info from anyone. Not cool.

@blksn8k
@blksn8k 3 ай бұрын
Yeah! The bike arrived yesterday which was a day "early" based on the trucking company's last estimate. Because I had watched yours and a couple of other videos it actually took longer to charge the batteries than it did to unbox and assemble the bike. Lots of fun riding but it's a little more difficult to ride on slow woods trails than I had hoped. But that's just a matter of relearning how to balance a bike at such slow speeds. The throttle response is a little weird as well with it being so linear. Kind of that on/off switch sort of thing which doesn't lend itself very well to slow speed riding. Doesn't help that I'm 70 years old either. LOL. No problem whatsoever climbing the grades on the gas well road. On the road you can also run at a fast enough pace that balancing the bike is not an issue. I also reduced the air pressure in the tires from about 20 PSI as shipped to 10 PSI which is the recommended minimum. Rides a lot better for someone of my average weight. Thanks again Joe! Oh, BTW, Greenworks' website still shows that I have only placed an order even though the bike has already been delivered. I thought this was the "information age". Apparently not for everyone...
