Note too (if I remember correctly) that the inexpensive line with single axels, the axels need to be repacked or greased every 3,000 miles. The more expensive models like this have never-lube hubs. BIG DIFFERENCE.

Excellent to see that Airstream has upgraded their Solar and battery option to a reasonable size! I’m curious if there are options/plans to increase battery capacity or option in an induction cooktop instead of the propane stove? I’m also curious if the undercarriage for the tanks and batteries is still just 12v heating pads/strips or if they’re ducted yet? This is VERY tempting, I miss my old 23FB, it was great while it lasted! 😎

@@noelhayes323 manual awnings r a pain in the arse. If u camp where wind is unpredictable, u boil sitting in the sun because u cant move fast enough to close up a manual awning before wind grabs it. So to be jumping up n down opening n closing a stupid awning gets to be tiring when you're not 20 yrs old anymore. Furthermore u have to fully open it, with an electric you don't have to fully open it. It ain't glamping with a manual awning imo. 🍻

Fill your fresh water tank and you have enough cargo capacity left for your single carry on bag. Get some weather tight totes and put all your gear in the bed of the pickup and you can take another 1000 or so pounds with you instead of over loading the trailer

I am coming from NY. How do you do sales tax? I also tow with a hensley arrow. Can your techs install that onto the Tradewind??
@marionladdwilliams5003Ай бұрын
With only 650 lbs of ccc and deducting 75lbs for the add ons, that's 575 lbs. To boon dock with a full tank of fresh water, deduct another 300lbs you're left with 275 lbs for food, clothing, personal items, kitchen utensils, and people. How is this a safe situation? It seems different axles are needed.

Someone please enlighten me on the great (expensive) reasons why Airstreams are better. I’m not being cynical. I’m really curious. They seem cramped by not having slides.
@lesliebright38602 ай бұрын
Sure, there’s a lot of campers out there for half the price that have larger fridges, big screen tvs, fireplaces, washer/dryer, lounge chairs/couches, slide-outs for making more elbow room…. But fast forward 8 or 9 years of use, you start to run into campgrounds that won’t let you have a camper over 10 years old because so many people are willing to abandon them, leaving the campground to have to dispose of it. Styles change, and if that was the type of camper you wanted, maybe 10 years later, you’d want something different. But an Airstream…. Panache. It’s about the styling. The longevity: many ancient Airstreams are still on the road. The way they’re built lends themselves to repairability. People that love them, tend to keep them a very long time. And there’s a community of kindred spirits, join the Airstream club and go to rallies, travel together on caravans… it’s more of a lifestyle. Often, you’re out away from the camper, traveling to see Yellowstone or the Tetons, and you’re using the camper for a place to sleep and make meals, not really spending all day in the small space.
@lesliebright38602 ай бұрын
Some Airstreams are larger than others; and while few and far between, there were a few made with slide-outs. They were rather heavy, requiring a larger tow vehicle, and didn’t offer ‘that’ much additional space, but at a much greater additional price. So, they retired having slides from their line-up. (They also had a 5th wheel version at one time, but that didn’t last long either.)
