You definitely made the right decision. When you get the foundations right everything falls into place and it’s piece of mind to have it all done it one go. Great work well done to the whole team.

A major project completed with sooo much work, but this can be a check off on the list. Rest easy knowing it’s one less thing to worry about. It’s going to be wonderful.

Wow what a journey thus far, what a wonderful idea to bring water up to the terrace, a plant haven, what a job, but was done the right way , am looking forward to seeing after you retire, best wishes on your next endeavor!

Thanks! I really want to be there enough to have a lot of plants on the terrace, and in the house.

We’re about to buy a casa in Italy and know we will have to reroute all the plumbing throughout the house just like you. Would you mind sharing how much ll if that cost so we will have a general idea of what we’re getting into.

You will spend more than you think. It is the most expensive part of a renovation. Anywhere from 5000 to 25000€ or more depending on the house

Whatever you pay for the house, you'll spend that much again fixing it up. If you do most of the work.

Great video to see how things are done in Italy. I have a couple questions if you could be so kind to answer. 1, What is the waste line going to the roof for? Is it a roughed in supply line for future use? 2. Is there any venting to the roof? In most photos of Italian homes I've seen there doesn't seem to be any pipes on the roof. 3. I have read through all the comments and two other people asked about the cost and you said about $5,000 to 25,000 Euros. Thats a pretty big range. If I have the exact same job as yours would it be closer to $5,000 or $25,000?
@CasaStefano
@CasaStefano 8 ай бұрын
1. Yes, rough-in for future outdoor kitchen/shower 2. No venting for plumbing in Italy, but I will add one just to be safe 3. Closer to 5000 Thanks for watching!

How does one check for asbestos? And what does it look like from an Italian infrastructure view?
@CasaStefano
@CasaStefano Жыл бұрын
Fortunately, this house was built with limestone, lime, sand, quartz, clay and concrete. No insulation or the kinds of materials that might have asbestos. If it doesn't look like masonry construction, I would have a pro take a look.

Again,I am trying to understand the train schedules from Rome or Brindisi to Galatone. Italian would help....Which lines took you from Rome to Lecce and Galatone ? Did it require an overnight stay,if so where ? I'll look again for maps and contact the train company directly as well. Thanks.
@CasaStefano
@CasaStefano Жыл бұрын
It takes time to figure it out. Download the Trenitalia app. You need it! From Rome there are several daily express trains to Lecce, under 6 hours. After that it’s all local trains. I haven’t taken a train from Brindisi, so I don’t know. Watch Episode 12 - I flew in to Rome, stayed the night, then took trains to Galatone

What route did you use to travel from the airport to Galatone ? Any hiccups ? And did you have an option for running pipes in the floor for plumbing ?THanks.
@CasaStefano
@CasaStefano Жыл бұрын
It's easy to rent a car at the airport. I think there are bus/taxi options to get to the train station, but I haven't tried them. There are not many options for plumbing, other than the floor!

@@CasaStefano I want to use the trains. My husband loves train trips and I want to be able to visit other sites without a car. Are you happy with your property in Galatone ? Did you use Davide's property finder and remote final closing services ? We are both retirement age and I want to walk to shops and restaurants. I did see your video on the trip to the local market. Do you speak Italian well or feel the need ? I'm planning to try and learn the basics. Thanks for the reply, Marietta
