I remember watching you guys on digitalrevTV like 5 years ago. You sparked my interest in photography in a way no other channel or mentor did. You had the knowledge but also the randomness and adventure spirit all in one place. That helped me overcome the boring, hyper-technical studio photography we did in school... Thanks guys, because of you I got into photography during the start of digitalrev time, and got to know Hong Kong. I was privileged enough to have lived in HK 2 years. It is truly a wonderful place and full of amazing lovely people. I joined the first big protests and saw everything escalate litteraly under my window in causewaybay, it put life and the world in a different perspective. With a lot of sadness I moved away to be with family when covid hit. . Just in case one of you reads this. You two silly man somehow ended up being a big influence in my life, and with me I'm sure many others. I wish you two the best of luck working together again in this new chapter! Thank you guys!!

Couldn’t agree more with you when you said what you did at DigitalRev back then wasn’t just about gears and specs. It was more about having fun taking photos. Just paid it a visit and watched several episodes and found the episode you created 6 years ago “Then and Now Juxtaposed” quite meaningful. Besides showing the audiences videos of you having fun taking photos on the street, you have also documented the way people lived and moved around in pre-national security law era. Brilliant jobs! It was legendary.

In college I was all about Airsoft. Constantly going to the Redwolf Airsoft page and ogling the fancy toys. Now I no longer have time for Airsoft because I’m into Real Steel firearms (which are even more expensive) and Photography (which I ironically/not ironically studied in college). But whenever you guys mention airsoft it brings me right back to college and my Nikon D5000. (which still works and I still use) I cannot wait for new Lok and Kai content!

In an ideal world, the leak that Kai was dangling in front of Lok would be a GH6 or at least a GH5 Mark III lol! Jokes aside though, I feel like there are many things that made DigitalRev different from Kai's channel. Even at it's core, I watched DigitalRev when I wanted to buy something, and if I wasn't looking to buy, I would watch and then get a desire to buy. The enthusiasm was worth its weight in gold. I watch Kai's channel to see Kai, Kai isn't really selling, just reviewing. DigitalRev was also a lot more structured, with hooks (which camera would win, which 35mm lens would perform best, which camera would survive being thrown and frozen and burned), and in that semi seriousness, humor was that much more effective. I think more videos with real world applications would be a good direction for the channel. Will Lok still be uploading to his channel regularly?

It's basically over, there is next to no democratic party anymore, so no more opposition to the parties close to/ affiliated with the Central government. No mass demonstrations, first because of covid and exhaustion (and trauma), then because of the National Security Law (NSL). Protesting now can get you very long jailtimes and people are expecting repercussions after release (like difficulties with getting jobs, etc). There's still street booths and people are still very passionate about the cause, but there is very little way to demonstrate one's believes now. My friends carry on with their lifes, but all in all it's a gloomy situation. Some plan to move, some wanna stay and enjoy their Hong Kong while it's still there.
