This is such a great car with so many practical features for a big family. I had an old t3 while I was at uni. Loved it. Great memories. This one looks really beautiful and that little table. At some point I was wondering if it can turn into a transformer and save the planet. It probably can. German engineering at its best. Awesome car and fantastic presentation.

One more item: At the beginning of your reviews, I would appreciate knowing the country and town where your reviews are taking place. I visited Germany many years ago, super enjoyed the Octoberfest and Munich itself for 5 days, next taking the train to Hamburg (spent 5 days there), ending my trip by taking a train ride to Amsterdam. The scenery from Munich to Hamburg was beautiful. Thanks!

LOVE the 2 tone -- heck Rolls Royce offered 2 tone vehicles for decades! Great interior - very versatile so I can see this replacing the large SUV for family use or even for airport transport companies!

Even though I'm not in the market for this kind of vehicle, and for other cars either right now, I enjoy your reviews a lot, it's almost like going for a test drive myself. I did travel as a passenger in both the T4 and T5 and and I found them confortable for long journeys, especially the T5, very spaceous and I didn't get car-sick in it, and I usually do when I'm the rear passenger in a small car. It is very stable and solid, almost like traveling by train. Great review! :)

Last time I drove a Transporter was in 1999...it had like 60hp ;-) well i'm sure this new one is much improved! Black one with those chrome wheels would be my choice. Great review again, you travel all over the world it seems!

I absolutely love how it looks, I would have liked to see more chrome accents I think that would make it more completely old school. I think the black plastic breaks the design apart for me. This would be a dream to have though, even though the styling is not perfect it still looks iconic to me, and combining that with the practical aspects of the van itself, I think it's great.

I find the transporter has a big cult following in uk and are of excellent build quality I am a plumber and opted for the Renault traffic as for practical reasons this t6 transporter only still 5 speed and every little creature comfort you pay for !!! The Renault and transit has the bulk head hatch for 3 meter length of pipe and timber the transporter does not vw are lagging behind on the cabin office toys to Renault and ford bench seat office clip board etc is very useful maybe I will look again in 4 years when vw look at the basics again

I think that the smaller Diesel engines also have their market share, for example in the regions where you pay taxes according to the engine's power. And also if the Transporter is used to cary stuff around the city or a small town, for example as a plumber's or a wall painter's vehicle who just moves around the city to his customers., they would be ok with the 84 hp engine.

Zajebisty jest ten biało-czarwony multivan. Ten T6 powinien paradować w Warszawie albo w Poznaniu przed czołgami Leopard 2. Polacy mogą być zawiedzeni , że to Volkswagen ale sami już nic nie wyprodukują bo nie potrafią. Za to dobrze montują auta w Poznaniu Tychach i Gliwicach. VW, FCA , GM zmontowane w Polsce najlepsze auta dla ludzi w Europie.

Thanks for good reviews :) I´m in need of a good 7 seat car and have been looking at VW Caddy Life Maxi because I need 7 seats and still want luggage space which you just don´t get in any usual 7 seater. However this car seems to not bee a top safety pick :/ What are your thoughts between caddy life maxi and t5/t6 regarding the safety and driving experience. Did you try the maxi life version? I am going to drive my soon to be 4 kids so safety comes before everything. best regards

those 2-coloursa version look ugly from outside - like car had a serious accident and was repaired in a barn in not a professional way. Also the interiour blue or red lack does not look good - reminds me of Trabant or Wartburg interiours where there was pure metal without any plastic elements inside. It does look cheap. Also I wonder how those lacked elements will look after several years of use. Any scretch on lack will be much more annoying than on plastic or leather. Nice review but I missed the information about adjustment possibility of the steering wheel. Also how the manual shift gear works- do you have to change the gear often or rather like in passanger car.
