Mind me this is just my opinion, but an easier way to solve Q3 at time stamp 31:04 would be to use the formula {(delta x)^(2) + (delta y)^(2)}^(1/2). In simple terms, the equation is square root of x1 - x2 squared plus y1- y2 squared.

We could have done question 3 c part more easily by just applying the distance formula. We know H's x coordinate is 0 as it lies on y, so we just need to know y, for now it can be just (0,s), s is what we need to find. THENNNN we also know G which is (-5,4). Apply distance formula, we know the distance is 13, it will go like this. 13 = √(-5-0)² + (4-s)² [13]²=[ √25 + (4-s)²]² Putting square on both sides to end square root. 169-25= (4-s)² √144 =√(4-s)² Putting square root on both sides to end square ±12=4 -s s-4= + 12 or s-4=-12 s=8 or s= -16 We have 2 possible answers so it will be (0,8) or (0,-16). BTW APPRECIATE YOUR EFFORT BRO, GREAT VIDEO

Can the inverse function be used to find the perpendicular equation for the 1st kite question?
@GingerMathematician Жыл бұрын
In general, the inverse of a function doesn't directly help in finding the perpendicular equation of a line. To find the equation of a line perpendicular to another line, you typically need the equation of the original line and some information about the point at which the perpendicular line intersects it (e.g., a point through which the perpendicular line passes). Then, you can use the slope of the original line to find the negative reciprocal slope for the perpendicular line and apply point-slope or slope-intercept form to find the equation of the perpendicular line. If you can provide more details about the specific problem or equation you're working with, I'd be happy to assist you further :-)
@jonerasmus9399 Жыл бұрын
@GingerMathematician Thank you for taking the time to reply. I've just covered inverse functions and every time I learn a new tool I want to use everywhere lol. However, looking at your kite question , given that you have an equation could the negative gradient be applied to the original function to help determine the perpendicular function . Negative gradients are perpendicular on a graph
