I could not believe what I was seeing! … Lifting around the cuticle area of my fresh new set… but why?
It was a rookie mistake but this situation taught me that no matter how much of a veteran you may be… you can never ever forget about those principles you mastered in the beginning.
Now of course, I pondered if I should just “sweep this under the rug no one needs to know what happened” kind of thing or if I should use this as a learning lesson to teach you not to panic, and instead think back on what the culprit may have been and how to avoid it.
So what did it?
Cuticle remover! Ugh-I know, if you’ve been with me for a while you know I’m adamant about dry manicuring, including skipping cuticle remover. However, some cases require the use of it to loosen up thick cuticle.

It's great to see that you're still learning and sharing that journey with us all. I've always wondered why japanese soft gel brands bother selling cuticle remover, so I'm glad you took the time to explain a situation why you would use it. I just did my first set using Lily Gel by Leaf Gel almost two weeks ago and I've only had lifting on my dominant thumb at the side wall and I'm honestly so impressed as I didn't even use alcohol (not me being too impatient to wait for it to arrive🤭). For me experiencing a problem is an exciting chance to learn what happened.
