I did my first J swap In 2012 on my 98 EK. Back when the jswap forums were the only thing to get info for the swap on. I loved this swap so much and had a blast doing it. Glad to see the swaps are getting more common.

Im in for more j series content. Id like to see a comparison of j vs k motor and transmission weights. Lots of guys are out there saying a j weighs more than a ls and will ruin handling. I dont believe it. Im putting a j30a5 in my 98 civic hatchback, and ive been documenting the build on my channel. Keep up the good work. Its nice to get real information from your videos and not just people bolting stuff together.

Thanks for watching! Yeah, the effect the weight of the J on our CRX wasn't bad at all and it is a track/time attack car. It's not like an Audi or something where the weight is mostly in front of the front axles.

Do the swap in the prelude man! I have a j swapped prelude myself with an LSD TL transmission, and it's utterly fantastic. It'd be super cool to see hasport make a mount set for this application, the only ones that exist are from innovative and they kinda suck 😅. I can provide some info regarding stock hood clearance as well!

If you do a full "how to" guide on doing a J swap prelude, I would also drop a brick in my britches. The weak point in any prelude is the engine, it's a great chassis with EXCEPTIONAL suspension but the engines are so prone to oil burning and leaking and breaking, it's a shame. I really just want to get another Prelude and drop a proper great Honda engine in it, be it K or J series. Like yeah, I could pay someone to do it, but I'd really like to DIY that beast. I just don't know how, and I definitely don't know how to make it CARB compliant. Freaking Colorado...

I stayed away from the J-Series for years because I was told they weren't as reliable as a K-Series. I now have an '05 Accord J30 and an '07 MDX J37 both with over 300k miles and they are by far the most reliable Hondas I've owned so far.

There seems to be this longstanding myth that V6s are unreliable compared to fours. But the reality is that these engines go the extra mile. My 2006 Accord 6-6 sedan has 370000 miles, and still runs like new! And when you really think about it, why would a long stroke, short rod motor last longer?
