Sam's anger at the fact that Dean is sacrificing himself gives the impression he didn't want one. As soon as he said, "You love chick flicks", that was the perfect queue for Dean to hug him. I'm shocked that a hug wasn't in the script, because it felt so in character and it worked with the emotions in this scene.

After watching that scene so many times, it looks more like Jared is in desperate need of a hug and so he hugs Jensen first. Jared's body language and the way he threw his arms around Jensen says that he desperately needed comfort from a friend. One can see the frustration in Jared's eyes during this scene, which also happened to be what Sam was feeling in this scene. Jensen slowly hugged Jared and one can see the sympathy in his eyes.
